In recent years he has played a little deeper in the hole between the defence and midfield so picking him up means someone is out of position.
Saw him a few times when we lived in Barca. He was just amazing. I have to say that watching Xavi and Iniesta was mesmerising. I saw a game vs Valencia and I don’t think any of the 3 gave the ball away

Watched that free kick few times this morning, it just gets better & better.
I remember watching Messi take my team apart at Wembley earlier in the season, he just strolls around at walking pace then when he is needed he seems to just burst into action with such pace, skill & grace.
Football will suffer a huge loss when this chap retires.
One for the Liverpool fans that nobody seems to have mentioned, Why did Klopp change a system that is so obviously unbroken, I 'm not Firmino's biggest fan but it works so well with Salah & Mane & why was TAA not playing ? Jurgen in my opinion gave them far too much respect last night.
I think as well as Liverpool played last night Barca just seemed to always be in control of the game for me
All in all it was a terrific game of football,
