A Celtic fan has admitted invading the pitch and assaulting a Paris Saint Germain player during Celtic's 5-0 defeat in the Champions League.
Twenty-one-year-old John Hatton, from Belfast, jumped over a metal railing and ran on to the pitch at Celtic Park on Tuesday night.
He assaulted PSG forward Kylian Mbappe by attempting to kick him.
Hatton was granted bail and sentence was deferred until 11 October for background reports.
Tesco worker Hatton also pled guilty to behaviour likely to incite public disorder by approaching the French striker.

The wee st should have the book thrown at him.

But I like this bit of the story, which I hadn't heard so far:

http://www.bbc.com/news/uk-scotland-glasgow-west-41256217 said:
A second Celtic fan, Anthony Lavelle, admitted punching Hatton on the head as he was being led from the stadium by police.

Depute fiscal Louise McNeil said: "Mr Lavelle was a spectator and after seeing John Hatton invading the pitch he became upset and angry.

"While the police were escorting Mr Hatton from the stadium he punched him on the head. Mr Lavelle was then arrested."

Defence lawyer Ann McKinlay said: "His last conviction was 42 years ago when he was 19.

"Mr Lavelle was far from the only person who was angry about the pitch invasion. The consequences for the club could be very serious. Uefa could make them play their matches behind closed doors."
Banning order refused

The court was told that 61-year-old Lavelle, who now lives in St Albans, Hertfordshire, has been a Celtic supporter since he was 13 and takes his nephew, who suffers from epilepsy, to matches.

Sheriff Gill fined Lavelle £400 and gave him two months to pay it.

She refused a Crown motion to impose a football banning order on him.

Sheriff Gill told Lavelle: "You have been going to football matches for 48 years with no trouble and you take your nephew to matches.

"If Celtic Football Club wish to revoke your season ticket that's a matter for them, but, I would hope they would see sense."
hehe

Qudos to Mr. Lavelle and Sheriff Gill.

I'd kind of guessed he wasn't going to be a senior project manager on the large hadron collider.

Real classy by Neymar at full time!

What a prick not shaking the kids hand.
Neymar declined to give Celtic defender Anthony Ralston his match shirt on Tuesday night because the superstar had already donated it to charity.

The Paris Saint-Germain icon has been criticised for appearing to snub Ralston after the final whistle, refusing to give his shirt to the 18-year-old.

However, Sportsmail can reveal the reason Neymar declined to give his shirt to the teenager is because he had already committed the jersey to the Marina Dalglish Appeal.

The charity - set up by the Dalglish family in 2005 - focuses on helping those diagnosed with breast cancer.

Celtic and Liverpool legend Kenny Dalglish played an integral role in establishing the charity with wife Marina. The shirt will be used to raise money at a forthcoming event.

Neymar, the most expensive player in football history, and Ralston were involved in a heated confrontation during PSG's 5-0 win at Parkhead on Tuesday night, the Celtic defender laughing in the Brazilian's face at one point.

The former Barcelona man had been accused of not handing over his top to Ralston because of the clash.

But the South American was merely sticking to his agreement with the charity.

Must have promised his handshake to a charity as well then and the hand over the mouth conversation must have been to tell him that!

Neymar most expensive player and also biggest prick!

He never wanted his shirt. Neymar publicity at it again. He went to shake his hand. He refused, kaughed at him then winked to wind a 18 year old youth debut up. Complete horrible we rat.

Celtic got pumpadoodled by a very good team. Just accept it and stop acting so silly. Won't be the first or last time. But with all this Neymar-bhery you're starting to sound like this:

What silliness?

I think everyone has accepted without comment and silliness the beating Celtic suffered. It was appreciated that a big loss was the most likely outcome, and of course tempered by the fact that any other team in the Champions League could fall to a similar loss against PSG.

Comments relating to Neymar are entirely merited and are not intended to take away from Celtic's poor show on the pitch.

I suspect you might have some axe to grind.

What happened to Pedro's "best squad in Scotland" only having 39% of the ball at home!

1 shot on target and that came after a clear foul that wasn't given.

I don't see any improvement over last year. The game was won at a stroll.

That Pena guy can't even run. There is something very suspect about him and that deal.

Does anyone know the difference between Celtic and Rangers wage bill?

I bet there is not much between them.

DELETED: Comment made by a member who's account has been deleted.
I see you've used the Sun for those figures. That's for 2016. I find it hard to believe that the average was even £6000 per week back then. It wouldn't begin to explain how they've been losing so much money.

A few on the new players will be on hefty salaries.

I don't think the wage gap will be as big as it should be.

It was April this year based on the 2016 season.

I can't see where even Rangers release the details. Their account are not audited and I can't find any breakdown of their wages.

Kevin Kyle talked of players earning £8000+ per week then they were playing in the third division. Can they really be playing in the Premier league now, paying good sums of money for better players and paying less for salaries?

Great result considering we could have played a lot better.

Gives us a great chance if being in Europe after Christmas.

First time that Celtic have kept a clean sheet in an away game in the CL.
