I would very much hope so. But in reality it depends on the damage to the heart and other organs caused by the attack.
Clearly this is most unusual. All footballers receive ECG etc regularly for Insurance and so on.
If the paramedics could keep the blood flow going on travelling to hospital possibly.
Again I most sincerely hope so.
But if there was any interruption to blood supply the consequences could be catastrophic.
I do hope not.

The only thing I can't reconcile is that footballers are far from the heights of fitness amongst pro sports types.
