Hope he makes it. All the best bloke.

I hope he pulls through. Must be encouraging that he has got to this stage surely?

I would very much hope so.

But in reality it depends on the damage to the heart and other organs caused by the attack.

Clearly this is most unusual. All footballers receive ECG etc regularly for Insurance and so on.

If the paramedics could keep the blood flow going on travelling to hospital possibly.

Again I most sincerely hope so.

But if there was any interruption to blood supply the consequences could be catastrophic.

I do hope not.

It certainly isn't a given. I believe Antonio Puerta (Sevilla) hung on for a couple of days before he succumbed.

Not a football fan but saw this on the news and BBC website. Wish him all the best in a good recovery.

Fingers crossed for him.

Only the second Spurs game I have got to this season.

Really hit everyone in the stadium hard. Dead silence as everyone knew how serious it was. You could see them trying to get him breathing again.

Really hope he pulls through this and there isn't too much damage to his body. PrayForMuamba.

yes

Unfortunately, it would seem to be a touch less than unusual amongst a generally healthier bunch than the norm:

The only thing I can't reconcile is that footballers are far from the heights of fitness amongst pro sports types.

All the best Fabrice. Hopefully he has a full and speedy recovery and gets back to his son and family in good health.

  • Some very unlucky players in the above link. A crossbar falling on a head and two players being struck by lightning at once!

Not sure why anyone needs to state whether they are, or are not a football fan. Still, hope he pulls through. Been several of these collapses. All the best fella.

I`ve witnessed a couple of these collapses, once when playing Sunday league the ref went down and the other was Paul Sykes playing for Folkestone Invicta. Neither pulled through. Horrible and frightening memories.

Desperately hoping for the best.

Before the statement came out last night that he was 'critical but stable', Sky News were consistently talking about him in the 'past tense'.

Shamefull.

I have heard on the News that Fabrice suffered a prolonged period without his heart working properly despite all the best efforts of the medics.

Clearly this is desperately sad and bad news.

I fear the outcome must be very very poor.

Desperately sad situation.
