I'm not really a football fan, but we happened to have this match on when he collapsed.

I must admit I thought I was watching someone die at the time (Reminded me of a few motor races I've been at), so it's great to see him on the road to recovery.

I guess his future won't involve professional football (As a player anyway), though.

Yup. As I said before, thank fk we have learnt lessons from previous, less fortunate athletes of any level who suffered from it.

Indeed. Brings back to me the memory of a sunday morning a dozen or so years ago when I was playing local league.

The ref went down in exactly the same way as Muamba. Problem was the local ambulance station was closed, can`t remember why, so it took something like 30 mins before we heard the siren.

Then, because the driver wasn`t local, he couldn`t find the pitch so all the players ran off in different directions and one of us located the ambulance. All this time, the oppo`s keeper, a first aider with his job, was doing his best with mouth to mouth and CPR.

Sadly to no avail. A horrible memory that these sad events always bring back.

So relieved to see Muamba looking so good in that pic.
