A mate of mine has one fitted after his heart stopped suddenly about four years ago.....I think it's "gone off" a couple of times since. Last time he was sat at his desk at work.

frown I don't think he will play proffesionally again but the fact he is still here is a big enough miracle.

Gutted he's had to retire, he's only 24. Hopefully he'll continue his career behind the scenes at Bolton.

Gartside promised him a job for life at Bolton, but i think he also has a degree.

Great character, great smile and will be missed as a player

Seconded. A smile wider than his face! Bloody good player too. Nothing fancy, just solid performances.

Gutted for him, really am. He seems like a smart guy so I'm sure he will see the bright side of things.

Good luck Fabrice clap

He is back with his family and that is what matters, he has a great disposition too as far as I can see too which will help him with the not being able to play football.

As an aside I can't help thinking what type of insurance you would have when you are such a high earner and then in theory can't earn anything close to that suddenly. Pretty serious critical illness payout I would guess at.
