Seems the new Malaysian owners want to throw 100 years of history out the window and make Cardiff play in red instead of blue.... this is the famous Bluebirds! The reasoning behind this apparently is that red is a more powerful colour in their country.... seriously what the juddering fk. Worse still - the club's emblem of a Bluebird will be changed to a fking dragon!

Understandably the fans are up in arms - st like this should be prevented by the FA/Welsh FA though. Ludicrous.

To be fair it sounds like most of the fans don't mind now they've slept on the idea.

They are looking forward to the £100m investment. Although they are 49m in the red. So that's a 51m investment really.

You can't just throw money at the championship, it doesn't work like that- look at leicester!

But as a football fan it is a sad day when some random foreigner can rip apart a club like that! Id be going mad if it was Forest. We've had £100m thrown at us in the last few years, we're still here! As i said, it doesn't work like that.

It's a total of 150m he wants to invest, to pay debts and still throw a wedge at the playing staff and training facilities.

[quote]I can categorically state that there were never any plans to rename the club.
The new club crest and home colours which were being discussed were intended to demonstrate the symbolic fusion of Welsh and Asian cultures through the use of the colour red and the predominant featuring of a historical Welsh dragon under the Cardiff City FC name.
This was not meant as a slight in any way shape or form on the club's traditions or history which we recognise are the lifeblood of any club. It was intended as a positive change to allow us to adapt and embrace the future.

From that article...

Article said:
However we have no desire to cause offence or for people to think we have no respect for the club or its history as it would appear has been suggested in various quarters including by local assembly members. We would have hoped that the significant investment made to date would have already demonstrated our good faith in that regard. Indeed, we are disappointed that anybody would think the contrary. In the light of the vociferous opposition by a number of the fans to the proposals being considered as expressed directly to our local management and through various media and other outlets, we will not proceed with the proposed change of colour and logo and the team will continue to play in blue at home for the next season with the current badge.
Result for the Bluebirds then.

As a leicester fan I suspect that you can succeed with money, as long as the chap spending has a clue what he is doing wink

All joking aside silly money at that level is not the answer, team building is.

Cant say as I would be at all impressed if LCFC were expected to play in red because its popular in Thailand.

You don't need fcensoredg £100m!! Just a good enough manager to instill a bit of comaraderie in a squad of decent players that want to play for the shirt and not the paycheck.

Look at the mighty Tangerines - our owner paid himself £11m and spent next-to-nowt on the playing side (relatively) and yet we are managing a bit of success!

Proof once more that some clubs are in this irreversible debt mode and can only recover with a 'Man $hitty' billions = success business model.

From what I can gather the cash might not be available if the colour doesn't change. There is an opinion that the Malaysians might now pull out, TBH, having moved to the shallow end of the gene pool to live in the midst of the knuckle draggers, I'd be happen to see them colour match the Blue Square premier.
