People seem to be typing the word "class" when they surely mean "crass".

Top class player, anyone who thinks otherwise knows naff all about football.
Seems like lots of us (even those who used to watch him play every week) know naff all then.
I've seen him play a few times, i've seen Parker, Carrick and Barry play a few times too.

He's comparable to those I mentioned, because he does a similar job. Did I say he was better? No.

And as has already been mentioned, top class managers are signing him up, sure they know than most of us.

I remember the fantastic contribution he made for City against Spurs in the FA cup a few years ago.
We were 3-1 down at half time
The tt got himself sent off during half time and we went on to win,

Seems we always win when he gets himself sent off laugh

I implied he's comparable to those players. Given what it would cost to acquire the others, and the cost of acquiring Barton (financially) then you have a player who's worth considering.

The guy can play football, end of.

A good player, just a shame about the person. How long do we think his ban will be? I reckon 12 games.

I think 12 aswell.
I personally think he's an average Premiership player whos usefulness is improved by his commitment,

The question is would he improve or not if his attitude changed for the "better".

Joey Barton is a liability, but he is also a character, a leader. He is someone who will stand up for himself and not roll over and die. Love him or loath him, he is an asset to a team (when he is on the field)

I do not really like him or his attitude, but he is the kind of player that Arsenal need. He is someone with balls, and Arsenal need bigger balls.

This is rubbish. He's not good enough for Arsenal. He's been largely average to poor this season for QPR and has missed a fair few games through suspension.
I was suggesting he was the kind of player Arsenal need. Not saying they should sign him.
He's not at all though is he? "Someone with balls" what does that even mean? Do you mean an effective ball winner? Because he isn't that. Do you mean someone who'll take a game by the scruff of the neck when the going gets tough? Because he isn't that.

Barton is a bottom-half Premier League midfielder and has no discernible qualities that make him the "kind of player" Arsenal need. They have Alex Song and Jack Wilshere in midfield, they need more players of that quality.

I'd like to see QPR just bin him.

I'd bet a pound to a penny that one day in the not too distant future he will be a superstar.....

of the Strangeways first 11.

Or Wormwood Scrubs Wanderers.

There's a couple of teams where he'd fit right in.

I'd like to see him elbow some big fat bloke in the shower when he got knocked as he drpped the soap.

(not the aftermath though!)

I know he's not that sort of player but I'd have loved it if Kompany had floored the little st when he tried that headbutt!
