Yes, well done! The final, once again, was played between the 2nd and 3rd teams.

Another season for us in bloody league! I think it will be tougher for us next year with current teams.
Hartlepool United supporter myself. I’m in my early 50’s and I feared I may have not seen us back in the EFL in my lifetime.
I was literally a shaking wreck at the end of the game yesterday.
Really felt for the Torquay fans yesterday, it’s easy “supporting” one of the footballing big guns.
It’s having the fortitude to support your hometown team even though the majority of their history has been overall grim that signifies the real football supporters for me

Good luck for next year, I hope you do well. I’ve been to Wembley a few times to see Notts win, I was hoping to take my lad to a playoff final victory but it wasn’t to be. I hope we don’t need the playoffs next year!

There’s been quite a few EFL players signed by a number of National League clubs in the past few weeks, a number of clubs such as Stockport and Torquay look like they are preparing to go for it again. Will make for an interesting season!

Come on you pies!

Aye all they need is a bit of financial backing and they can attract some football league players. I've seen players leave Hartlepool to sign for non-league semi-pro teams on more money (most recently their captain!).

County have signed Barrow striker Scott Quigley. Apparently Barrow couldn't match the wages so it looks like Stockport are going for broke this season to break back into the league. They were knocking last season so with crowds back I think they stand a good chance.

Wrexham have just signed last seasons EFL2 record goal scorer, Paul Mullin.

Yes, I’m hoping the rest of the team get the hump as he’ll be getting paid 5 times as much as the rest of the squad. Or he gets injured in the first game and he’s out for the season, fingers crossed!

Does that now mean Callum Roberts is the second best player in the league?

Stockport have also signed a decent young centre back from Manchester United on loan, Will Fish.

I could have got 8/1 yesterday for outright winners, today I only got 9/2 after signing.

Wrexham had a good runout at Tamworth yesterday, beat them 5-0.

The Step 6 club that I'm secretary of were back in competitive action yesterday for the first time since November 3rd, that's 270 long days since a game.

It was great to get to the ground (we were away), opposition chairman who's a good man made me a cuppa, had a chat about our clubs before I broke off to fill in the teamsheet with the manager. Players were warming up, there was an audible buzz in the ground albeit the crowd was 152, still good for this level. Found a seat in the stand and had a chat with a groundhopper that was there then a few of our fans turned up and sat down.

Lads started terribly, conceding twice in four minutes but got into the game and pulled a goal back before half time. Into the bar for the half time hospitality, lovely rolls and cakes etc with another cuppa and another chat.

Let in two more halfway through the second half and another couple in the dying moments. Lost 6-1 but we had five 16-year-olds and a 17-year-old playing as we begin to integrate our new under-18's team into the club. One of the 16-year-olds scored our goal, you could see his smile from five miles away!! After the game, players came in for food and we had a cold cider to chat about the game.

I'd driven down under my own steam but the lads came down by coach, paid for by our main sponsor. Believe they stopped for a few more pints on the way back too, getting back about 11pm. I left at 6pm after a warm handshake from the chairman and good wishes for the season.

We lost heavily but apart from a few minutes after the match where obviously the manager wasn't happy, everyone enjoyed the experience. We've missed this so much over the past 16 months or so, a lot has been said about the revenue lost by clubs at this level but it's as much about the camaraderie, the buzz, the fellowship with the opposition's supporters as anything else. Their Twitter feed last night praised our club for leaving the changing room as we found it & also thanked us for staying for a few beers rather than skulking off home right after the game. That's what's been missed and personally, I can't wait until Tuesday night when we have our first home game.

That’s what we’ve all missed, sounds like a great day out, apart from the result!

Good luck for Tuesday!

Thanks for everyone's kind wishes! clap

Yes it is. I'd say that the admin stuff alone is probably 3-4 hours a week but I also run the website, Twitter feed, write & produce the programme, take care of most of the commercial stuff & I'm also project managing plans for our 75th anniversary in 2023. That lot means I'll spend 10-12 hours a week at least, I'd say.

I'm single too. This might be why! hehe

Another good result for Wrexham today, 4-0 win at Fleetwood. Can't see anybody stopping us winning the league this season. COYR.
