All quiet in here
Where has Puggit gone?Apologies, a long journey home yesterday and I'm enjoying time off with my kids for half term.
I can only repeat what others have said. There was definitely a sense of foreboding on the train down from Ricky. In 1999 it was party time, but there was hardly any singing on the train. The only highlight was when just 2 Palace fans joined the train at Pinner - what a welcome!
I was sat in posh part of Club Wembley, having scored some permanent seats from QPR fans with no wish to attend, just inside the Palace half. They certainly appeared noisier!
We rarely got out of first gear, and allowed Palace to do what they did to Brighton - very disappointing from Zola. Only when Forestieri came on with 5 mins of normal time to go did we offer any real danger. At that point Palace should have been out of sight.
From my half way vantage point it was clear we had no midfield. Time and again we struggled to pick up the loose balls there, allowing Palace to continually attack. Their break-aways were dangerous too. Only Lloydinho and Almunia stood out for me.
I haven't seen any replays, but I'm advised by neutrals it was a fair penalty award. However, the ref did seem to favour Palace, allowing them to take our players out while punishing us. I think fair claim could be made for a couple of double yellows against Palace players.
The failure to be promoted is a strange feeling. On the one side, this time last year we were staring in the abyss of watching our club disappear. The Pozzos have rescued us and treated us to some amazing delights. The plan wasn't to be promoted in year 1, and yet we came within a whisker. I feel our team is far from complete, especially the defence and defensive midfield. I'm looking foward to next season that is for sure.
One area to certainly concentrate on for our failure to be promoted is the penalty count. We've been denied countless stonewall penalties, awarded only 6 penalties all season. As the most attacking club in the Championship, that tally should not be less than 1/3 of the penalties awarded to Palace.

Rumours on the Udinese blog website that we'll keep the core players AND some decent reinforcements. This could be great...
16/1 being offered on some betting sites...
Looking forward to it already 16/1 being offered on some betting sites...

Strangely not disappointed about Monday - probably to do with being let down gently over 120 mins! I think the real Watford are still in Marbella - no idea what shambles turned up this week (with a couple of exceptions).
Onwards and upwards!

Apparently the core loanees, except Vydra, have all signed.
Very pleased about Abdi, if true...
Pudil (4 years) and Battocchio (3 years) have announced they have signed permanently today on Twitter.Very pleased about Abdi, if true...
Almen Abdi, Joel Ekstrand, Marco Cassetti, Ikechi Anya, Jaime Romero, Gabriele Angella and Marco Davide Faraoni are all expected to sign permanent deals with Watford in the coming days.
With Uche Ikpeazu and Lewis McGugan earlier in the week - that is starting to look like an amazing Championship squad!
That's not including Javier Acuna on loan.
No loopholes this year
Now it's almost all official: http://www.watfordfc.com/news/article/130719-eight...

You guys looked pretty impressive Saturday. Although I do worry about what will happen to your very impressive academy if you're just going to resort to pulling in players from Italy.
Five academy graduates played a part On Saturday, with another on the bench. Last season we ranked second for the number of home-grown players used in the Championship. http://infogr.am/Number-of-homegrown-players-to-ap...
