Does anybody live in Barcelona who is familiar with the process. FCB play Real Madrid on the 22nd August and we are approx 2hrs drive away on holiday. My son wanted to visit the camp nou to do the tour - we wanted to get some tickets for the game as a surprise. There are some websites that have them for sale at high prices which I was hoping to avoid. I understand the supply v demand for big games and prices so would take the cost on the chin - just about!
Before I do buy at silly prices I was wondering why I cant buy from the FCB website - somebody mentioned on PH that tickets do not go on sale until 10 days prior.

Any advice would be great. Thanks.
Ian

I live in Barcelona and Real Madrid tickets are different to all others.
Season ticket holders have their tickets and then any returned will go into the next pot. This is for members who pay an annual fee and get a reduction on prices. Then they go to general sale if there are any left. The official BCN website is the best place at this time to try, but what also happens is closer to the game, some get returned and put on general sale. (Either on the web or at the ground) By closer to the game, i mean on the day before, or the day of the game.

For the champions league semi final, some colleagues got tickets on the day at 4pm and collected them on the night. It's much tougher with a game vs Madrid, but it is possible. There is also a hut on Las Ramblas near the top which sells them, but they will be costly.

Have you tried the club site http://www.fcbarcelona.com/info-tickets/football
as they seem to show up everything about purchasing tickets from them ?

Hi
Thanks for the reply. Is the Official BCN website the clubs own website? I cant see the tickets for that game for sale on there.
I was wondering if they released them nearer the time maybe?

Thanks for the reply. Yes I have been through the website but can't find the tickets for that particular game.
I was wondering if they go on general release? If so maybe nearer the time?

yes it is, but they will only release any spare tickets and even then, they will go very very quickly. There are 80+ thousand season ticket holders so for this game, there are very few spares and so it's tough to get a ticket.

smile Well guys I done it!!
I waited for the tickets to go on sale via the club website, the general public can buy tickets 10 days after members. They went on sale today and I managed to get 3 tickets in section 105 which is behind the dug out 21 rows back. Amazing - 164 euros each. The offered my VIP tickets last week on the palladium section which is slighly further away from the pitch for 450 euros each.
Well chuffed - lets hope somebody does well in their exams as we get the results the day of the match.

Good work!
If you want great tapas which is only about 2-3 km away from the ground, try Paco Meralgo.... it´s the best tapas I have ever tasted

Anyone who wants to go should check groupon. They've got an offer on for hotel for the night plus match ticket for £153.

Oh and it's on the 23rd, not 22nd August.

Nice one. I thought it would have been hard to get them but it seems you got 3 which you needed.
Enjoy smile

Just looked. There's literally thousands on there to buy. I didn't think there'd be many up for grabs.

Sign of the times in Spain I suppose mate. The recon for non real & big games they have on average 18k seats empty.
I was shocked to get them - let alone in section 105 row 21 right behind the dug out. biggrin

The date was to be confirmed on my tickets but now the website showing 23rd - the time is released 10 days prior to the day. Something to do with spanish football tv contracts etc

Usually the date changes for football, but more usually to accommodate the Spanish super cup in this instance or champions league depending whether the following game is on a Tues or Wed

Yep I think they've pulled the date back for the 2nd leg at the Bernabeu as well - from 30th to 29th.

PS: I hope you get a real classic! It's changed a lot over the years. I started going to them when Gary Lineker and Steve Archibald were in the Barca team and Hugo Sanchez and Emilio 'El Buitre' Butragueno starred for Real. Back then tickets were easy. You asked the concierge in the hotel you were staying at to get them. And it was £50 for great seats in La Tribuna!

Oh yes, after el classico, go to Placa catalunya to celebrate with the Barca fans..... If they win, it´s an incredible place to be. And watch out for the cars with 9 people hanging out of them.... and no-one seems to care

Closer than we first thought to the bench!

They just keep passing - the crowd don't like it when they are not passing.

Lots of empty seats

The player my 15yr old came to see. It was worth the 39 degrees of heat. We left the stadium at approx 00:50 am. The stewards don't allow you to walk nearer to the pitch for photos which was slightly annoying!
