I would have loved him at Bristol Rovers. I am genuinely surprised he didn't step up to L1 at his age as I am sure the offers would have been there but the attraction of working with Lowe again must have been too much.
He will be stepping up to L1, it'll just take 9 months.selym said:

I know. Graham who...?
My lad who's walking South Devon for DofE Silver messaged to say he was doing a random dance on a beach being stared at by the locals!
Top lad! I must say I felt very optimistic, not for the name (although this guy could be special) but the fact we were relegated and still the boss has the charisma to convince players to join us.My lad who's walking South Devon for DofE Silver messaged to say he was doing a random dance on a beach being stared at by the locals!
I don't blame Lameiras, Carey or anyone for leaving to be honest. League 1 was a stretch for them, but League 2? The proof of the pudding is CSKA Sofia taking Carey - this is a big club in the scheme of things.
I also liked what the Gaffer said, if you're good enough, you're old enough. This is about a team.
Hints that Carey wouldn't have been a fit. His ego was becoming a problem. It's going to be his undoing in Bulgaria, bench warming isn't going to suit him.
Feel sorry for the Sofia females though. Won't know what's hit them!

Yeah, well they episode in our history is over. This one is about to start, and I for one haven't been so excited for a few years. I think we will see another 4 or 5 in.Hints that Carey wouldn't have been a fit. His ego was becoming a problem. It's going to be his undoing in Bulgaria, bench warming isn't going to suit him.

Well I'd like to say it's a pleasure being back here but as much as we had fun last time, our mere existence is still on the line. I have a ticket for Wycombe on Saturday which in theory goes ahead but our current contracted squad would struggle to fill a taxi let alone a minibus or coach....

For the first time since 1987 we go into a season without the Oyston family being involved in the club
We've got a former manager in Simon Grayson back in charge. The last time he was manager he got us promoted from this division and into the Championship. He's also managed that at Leeds, Preston and Hudderdfield although he's not done very well in his last 2 jobs at Sunderland and Bradford.
There is now a buzz around the town again now that the Oystons are gone. Local business are getting involved in the club again, 2 council run schemes, Visit Blackpool and Get Vocal (a mental health initiative) are the shirt sponsors. and other parts of the club are being sponsored by other local firms.
Work has been done all over the stadium to repair the years of neglect.
We have even paid fees for players and multiyear contracts. Today we signed Joe Nuttall on a 3 + 1 year contract for an undisclosed fee from Blackburn. Apparently very good in their under 23 team.
And I cannot make Saturdays game

The Mighty Vale have also shed an ill-intentioned owner recently, and go into the season with new ‘nice’ local owners and a renewed enthusiasm..
Just about to head off for our 1st game of the season, against Rotherham
We've got a really tough start to the season, so I fully expect us to be anchored to the bottom of the league. I just hope and pray it's not a repeat of last season, where it was only a 3-goal difference that kept us up

@GloverMart - the Swans have just signed Sam Surridge on loan from Bournemouth for the season. He was at Yeovil a few seasons back right? Any opinion on this guy? I am told by a Bournemouth supporting colleague the club are disappointed he has gone out as they think he is Prem squad ready...

Hi Legend... He was poor with us and had a decidedly average scoring record, something like one every five or six games. I was very underwhelmed, but given how he has done since he left us, I'd say he was poorly managed at YTFC. Had a decent season last year at Oldham so his star is very much on the shine right now.
ETA - his record was 10 goals in 30 starts +23 sub appearances for us. At Oldham, his record in 14 starts + 6 subs was 12 goals. Vastly improved, and could do well with you guys.
Prem quality? Not yet for me, but another season in the Championship might be what he needs.
