Who will get the sack first, Boas or Rogers?

As title, don't know how to set up a poll, especially on a phone.

One of these 2 is first to go in my eyes.

Not sure how Boas got the job at all, poor results, more importantly terrible man management by most accounts at Chelsea

Rogers is up to his neck in it I reckon with an average squad and an overexpectant fanbase, could almost feel sorry for him if he wasn't a Premiership manager

Boas had an exellent record in Portugal and was effectively bullied out of his position by players whoe felt threatened by his presence.

Rodgers is at a huge club and needs time to build his own squad and instil his own ideas.

I think/hope both managers do well and neither will be the first to be dismissed.

Both managers are under pressure to perform, both clubs have history of sacking managers who under perform. I'd give them both six months.

A good domestic record with Porto is almost like doing well in with Celtic/(old)Rangers, granted he was successful in Europe which is an achievement of sorts.

Why were the players threatened by him? Threatened with what?

Liverpool have been a 'huge' club forever, their squad isn't good though.

What would you define as 'doing well' for both sides?

I think Di Matteo will go before them two. My bet is by Christmas. Can't see him doing very well at all, and don't think the fans or Abramovich (sp?) will stand for he's boring style of play if he doesn't get results. And I can't see him replicating he's success from last year.

If the choice is between AVB or BR, I'd say BR will get the sack first. We've seen just how quickly Liverpool fans can turn on a manager. BR needs time and a lot of money in order to turn Liverpools fortunes around. Liverpool have Citeh and Arsenal (I think) in the next 2 games, and its quite realistic that they could find themselves on 0 points after 3 games. Defo not what the Yanks are after, let alone the fans.

AVB didn't help himself at all at Chelsea. I know the plumber will want to be positive about his manager, but when you send players like Anelka and Alex to train with the kids, when you stand on the touchline constantly bleating to one of the best LB's in the world about how to do his job, and most importantly, when you don't get results, you have to go.

I think either Hughes at QPR, and judging by the reaction I've seen on a Norwich forum, maybe Hughton could be the joint favs to be sacked first, especially as they both play each other next weekend.

I queried both appointments off season, neither made sense to me.

I watch the Premiership as a neutral, long suffering Leeds fan here.

I think Robbie @ chelsea has bought himself longer than either than these 2, Champs league win and part of the clubs history as a player as well.

That's true but that happened because of his awful man management. They felt threatened because his communications was god awful.

If my memory serves me correctly he (rdm) won them 2 FA Cups as a player, achieved the absolute impossible as a caretaker manager last year by seeing off the best football team I've ever seen for the champs league.

Success is short in football, as far as Chelsea are concerned he is well and truly engrained in 'history'.

There will be a lot of sackings this season imho.

Apart from Old Rednose I don't think anyone is safe. I'm also pretty sure Mancini is & probably Di Matteo too but lets face facts, no one is going to get anywhere near those three teams this season. Everyone else is playing for the last Champions League spot and the Cups (and they only matter to the fans.).

Anyone else I would be a worried man, especially if my chairman/board/fans are expecting you to fill that place.

I've not been keeping track. However the team that won the champions league wasn't the best Chelsea team of the last 5 years, heck not even the last 2 months, for whatever reason, like Scumchester against Bayern it was 'destined'.

My original point remains, he's safe for longer Andre or Brendan.

As a Leeds fan and a Yorkshireman, it pains me to say it but I don't see anyone getting anywhere near the Manchester teams this year.

2 seasons with 2 different clubs. 1 "saved" from relegation and a cup semi-final. The other admittedly much more successful with an emphatic league win, Europa cup and a domestic one. But I wonder whether this is really enough to tell just how good someone is - had he stayed at Porto and cemented that position, winning the same or more with them then maybe. Isn't there always the possibility that he inherited something as it stands?

He *has* to do well at Spurs or his record isn't going to look so hot. And what constitutes "doing well"? They finished 4th last season. Should probably have been 3rd...

I suspect Rogers will be safe this season. Bad result for them yesterday, and could have been a lot worse. I have a feeling the situation with Carroll will pan out in AC's favour, he'll do well and Liverpool will do fine.
