The Brendan Rodgers Thread

There is indeed. But we'll not go there because we'll clearly disagree.
Now back to BR. Has he got it in him to drop Gerrard? Didn't AVB drop Lampard and that caused a backlash? If ever there was a easy time to drop Gerrard it'd be after a clearly knackering midweek England game.
But who would you pick in his place now that we've sold Adam???Now back to BR. Has he got it in him to drop Gerrard? Didn't AVB drop Lampard and that caused a backlash? If ever there was a easy time to drop Gerrard it'd be after a clearly knackering midweek England game.

Brendan Rodgers will be fine, as will Liverpool. The only risk for him is if the fans turn on him Woy style and he, like Woy, doesn't get a fair crack of the whip.
Will never happen, 2 totally different footballing manages, 1 likes to play the other is all about stopping them... ROdgers will get time from both the owners and the fans ..10 Pence Short said:

Roy will do well at England and probably is having the last laugh now. Funny how life somehow turns out.As for GG doesn't surprise me that he appears as if by magic with nothing constructive to add.

Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong but didn't Rafa, our most successful manager in over 20 years, set out his team to stop the opposition playing. Nothing wrong in using that approach whilst you're building a team and slowly introducing your style of play. Indeed an early weakness of Rodgers is his indifference to whatever team he's playing against as he'll always set his team out to play the same way.

How can he possibly do well? He qualifies for Brazil. That's the very least that is expected. However, there's no possible way for England to win the World Cup down there. The odds are that the climate will do for us if the opposition initially doesn't. Even if the tournament will be notionally in the Southern hemisphere winter. We'll be lucky to get out of the group.
England is a poisoned chalice, imo.

I'm pleased that BR didn't see a future for Adam at Liverpool.

So, you're saying that to be successful as an England manager, all that he needs to do is qualify for a tournament?
Do you read the newspapers at all?
Yes. For Roy that'll be a success. We've failed to qualify at least twice in my memory. I'd rather be there and get battered than not at all.Do you read the newspapers at all?
I actually think he'll negotiate the group stages as well as long as we don't get an awful draw.

:rollseyes:Been reading since the start, just haven't posted because I was hoping the original thread would return. But it would seem that that is some way off, if it happens at all.
This will be my one and only response to you.
You know what i find quite saddening
now the "truth" has come out clearly - not that the truth was very well hidden
your getting the FA, sheff city council etc all saying sorry and how we're going to correct this now and do our best to get justice for the 96
but where were they in all the intervening years? was this truth so hard for them to see that they'd couldnt publically support the campaign back then?
the way i see it is that all thats come out is not the truth - that was undeniable and out there - but the level of deception taken place. its scandalous that these organisations coming out apologizing now trying to clean them selves of 23 years of bloodied hands. thats the way i see it and i'm not even a liverpool fan.
it should never have had to be left to the families of the 96 to campaign for this - this should've stamped down long long ago.

Your perceptively right, the truth hasn't come out its the deception and smoke that has vanished leaving the truth exposed.
I feel pretty numb about this I was 25 when it happened and a mad keen obsessive lfc fan I could so easily have been there. IMHO Everyone is crying sorry because they are apologising for other people and we all know that's not the same as apologising for your own actions. I hope the families get satisfaction and can move on as 20 years campaigning is unbelievable and must effect all within the family.
Lfc 2012 is far far from the lfc that was but it has real passionate fans that will not tolerate the crap ownership and management we have had for 15 years, it's a good job they exist as I fear for the club if the didn't.
