So Brendan Rogers then, what did/does the Great One see in him, what qualities makes him a target for clubs?

It is a shame that there is no Liverpool thread. It provided great entertainment, was the most popular football thread and there are more Liverpool fans on PH than supporters of any other club.

What's done is done. By the looks of it. Don't think these threads will change the mods mind.

From what I understand, it was only a handfull of posters causing the problems.

Perhaps if they all step forward and take voluntary bans the mods will open up the Liverpool thread again?

It was full of people arguing that was why it was so popular, as for more Liverpool fans I think Spuds head that particular league.

Not according to my data {hehe}

They are the most supported club on PH by the looks of it.

C'mon fellas. Ease up a little bit on these cunningly titled topics.

Are you trying to drag the rest of the football forum down with your thread or something?
Not at all, want to discuss and compare Brendan Rogers and his teams ( Chelsea, Liverpool and Swansea ) to other managers and their teams to try and figure out what makes him a good/bad/indefferent manager versus someone like SAF or Mourinhio.

OK so when SAF first started at MU ( and please excuse my ignorance of the history of the Mancs ) from what I read and have heard he was NOT an instant success and yet MU stuck by him, do we think that BR is going along a similar road and if given time, resources and crucially support he could build a legacy at his current club? Does he have a similar personality/work ethic/pig headedness as SAF or his mentor Mourinhio?

It wouldn't matter - football has moved on far too much in business & money terms - no current manager would be given the sort of leeway SAF was given when he started at Untied.

I truly hope he is given time, and the backing to build a team.

Will be interesting when SAF finally retires, how long your new manager is given to achieve success.

I guess it all depends on who gets that poison chalice.

Massive boots to fill, replacing SAF.

Yeah the instant gratification generation. Sad really especially when you look at who the successful managers in the Prem are. The three that always spring to mind are SAF, Wenger and Moyes. 3 very different clubs and three very different targets/resources etc BUT they all have long term managers who have been given what resources were available to the clubs to build something. I hope that Brendan gets some time to bed in and install his vision at Liverpool and that AVB gets the same chance in Spud land

I think as long as his current club finish in the top half of the table (which I think they will), he'll be given another season. Probably top six season after, and then top four.
