Probably wise not to get too involves on it on here, the topic always results in quite extreme views, and I seem to remember a few topics being closed, we wouldn't want the Bredan Rodgers Thread to go the same way.

Thread running in the news section at the moment about it oo.

IMHO to lay the AC fiasco squarely at BR's door is a little unfair. I think most people would accept his statement that he wouldn't [have] let AC go if he didn't have a replacement lined up.

The manner in which the replacement failed to materialise suggests that the club has issues with its General management (rather than team management) that still need to be sorted out.

I think the club is much better organised that it was when H&G were owners, but it does appear that FSG, Ayre & Rodgers were not aligned on how transfers were going to be handled.

The full Hillsborough report is apparently here although ive not been able to load it yet. http://www.official-documents.gov.uk/document/hc12...
Disclosed material is here. http://hillsborough.independent.gov.uk/browse/

Those of you who were there, and those of us who were not knew the truth of what truly happened that day but it make its no less shocking reading some of the things that went on.

David Cameron stood up in Parliament and offered his apology and said that Liverpool fans were not to blame. You can watch that here. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-19574108#TWEET225088

59 of the 96, may have been saved with proper medical care
164 Police officer statements amended
116 negative comments removed

They took blood alcohol samples from children and injured being treated.
Ran Criminal record checks on the deceased.

The cover up is now exposed and whilst it will not take away the pain felt by the families i hope that they feel some relief from having the truth exposed.

I watched Cameron on TV. Everything that the relatives said was true.

The findings that 41 poor souls could have been saved will forever shame those who were supposed to serve this country's citizens. But, instead chose to betray and unjustly vilify them.

Heart wrenching stuff today.

I cannot believe what the families have had to endure.

Puts our petty squabbles in perspective.

They played You'll Never Walk Alone on Radio 1 today as well.

Was a nice little tribute, I thought!

I kind of feel very guilty as i never thought our police & system would stoop to lying & covering up such an awful event

Senior people whom are responsible for the cover up must be bought to justice over this, i just hope the compensation culture does not appear.

Deepest sympathy for all the Liverpool fans & families involved

Am I imagining this or did police officers who were there not claim compensation?

Regardless every one of them should be held to account. Even the lowest PC that had his statement altered and didn't speak out. Well as far as I'm concerned they are culpable also. Utter scum and once more the police in out country have been shown to be corrupt.

Now BR, if you want to get your players to come out in support of a cause and I suggest the team come out with special justice tops against Utd.

A half time burning of the Sun newspaper and maybe an effergy of that of an editor wouldn't go amiss either. Ok that's probably me raging a bit.

I have no idea how the families have managed to conduct themselves with the dignity that they have for as long as they have. Truly remarkable given what we know now.

Lots of memories of that day flooding back yesterday and today. Particularly Dalglish's total bewilderment in the interview afterwards. His actions in the days, weeks, months, years after that event should've earned him a knighthood. A truly great man. The King.

For once I agree with the first two paragraphs you have written, from then on it goes a bit wobble Raj.
