Surely the real question is, how has this evidence remained secret for 23 years.

There have been previous Hillsboro inquiries, where was all of this evidence hiding during those investigations and who was doing the hiding?

That takes conspiracy and collusion.

A few weeks ago, I watched In The Name of the Father, a film about Gerry Conlon of the Guilford Four, it was just luck that the new evidence came to light. It wasn't actally new but it was kept hidden for all those years.
Then you have the likes of the Bloody Sunday inquiry. The dogs on the street knew what happened, yet the British government spent hundreds of millions of pounds, telling us what we already knew.

Yesterday was very similar to the conclusion of the Bloody Sunday inquiry, the families were called to hear the report before it was made public. An apology from the PM and the press telling ud we were right all along. The so called peace process will probably mean that no one goes to jail in relation to Bloody Sunday, but we cannot allow that to happen with Hillsborough. Someone somewhere made a decision to blame Liverpool fans for what happened at Hillsborough and all the way down the line people followed orders and covered this sorry mess up.
We deserve justice for all those who died, for their families, for the people of Liverpool and for Liverpool F.C and the fans. Yesterday was a step in the right direction, but we still have a long way to go.

Being in a different country and despite being very young at the time doesnt hide the sadness I still feel when reading about this. I saw yesterday Phil Thompson said ' To an awful lot of people now you understand why we couldnt just get over it' Despite being over here, despite not being or having anyone personally involved it is something that I have grown up with and something I believe I am now very much a part of (that being the JFT96 Campaign). To those families, to the fans who just went to a football match and never came home you will forever be in our thoughts. I am glad for you that the truth has come out, I am glad for you that the good names of those who suffered have been cleared. Those resposible have to be brought to justice. It will not bring anyone back but maybe it will show to everyone and to the world that if you do wrong then you will be brought to justice. Cover ups, and lies, lies about lies it goes to the top and those invloved should be ashamed. As for the rag that everyone alludes to, I will not even mention it by name, as far as I am concerned it does not exist. YNWA.

I was fairly young when this happened so don't remember it in much detail and it's shameful the lengths that people have gone to in order to cover up the decisions made.

Without coming across as crass or anything but is there a good documentary or footage of the incident that is worth watching to understand how/why it happened the way it did?

Hadn't seen this thread, is this just a 'Rodgers' thread then wink

At last it has come out what many Reds new for a long time. Heart goes out to the families for having to wait all this time for people to realise what really happened.

It's an unofficial 'Official Brendan Rodgers Thread' If everyone behaves then I think it'll be allowed to continue.

We need a Liverpool thread of sorts.

Nooooo, they need to re-open THE thread!

This is all well and good, but not the same...

Not entirely sure why it was stopped, am I missing something? (the MOD must be a blue nose smile)

Ok there was a slight clash of opinions/personality's but that's no reason to stop the thread. If someone has been out of order by being too abusive or swearing give them a warning or temp ban. It may get a bit tasteless at times but hey, that's internet forum's for you.

Probation first surely?

Then some reports from qualified neutrals, analysis of behaviour patterns, risk assessments, perhaps a study on pre-posting aggression levels, maybe a appraisal and follow on seminar on 'forum function post-scouse involvement'.

Alternately, don't fking bother with any of that.

yes

Let's keep it that way, and you never know ..... wink

Although the mod-bashing does not help. People either have very selective memories, or are not aware of what's gone on in the past. But happy to move on, so keep it up thumbup
they have !!

Yes and the first time someone wants to throw a derogatory comment someone's way they can respond in kind, add in someone's mother, daughter and pet hamster too. Seeing as there are no punishments for personal abuse.

What do you reckon Glen? A Liverpool forum where you're only allowed to post if you agree with the clique else all gloves are off....

Onto more serious stuff, I hear the IPCC are getting involved in the cover up. I'm off to the bookies to put money on not one single police officer being convicted and spending any time in prison.

I Couldn't care any less about it...

If some random person on the internet wants to insult me, I aint going to lose any sleep over it. rolleyes

I also think that deliberate attempts to wind people up repeatedly shouldn't be ignored by the moderators, especially if its what causes all the fighting.

There is indeed. But we'll not go there because we'll clearly disagree.

Now back to BR. Has he got it in him to drop Gerrard? Didn't AVB drop Lampard and that caused a backlash? If ever there was a easy time to drop Gerrard it'd be after a clearly knackering midweek England game.

Id say now is an easier time than ever to drop him because lets be honest he hasnt played all that well for a while now.

However could dropping the captain demoralize the rest of the team?
