Indeed. And we have done. Which some seem to find unacceptable. But on the other hand complain and raise issues on other thread. Can't have it both ways
I get a lot more respect modding the police forum than you guys do on here, I've got the tools to ban offenders from specific topics.Good luck indeed.
I think the thread that got deleted aimed at Ferg using my name in the username was pretty poor form as was the numerous alternative threads that were created. Complete lack of respect for the mods.
I can only imagine what your collective inboxes can be like.
From my point of view the Liverpool thread has more than it's fair share of bullies with much more of a mob mentality to it than the other club threads. I'm happy to move on but i think a few thing needs to be made clear. The purpose of these threads are not just for fans of the club to post. Nor just for fans that fall in line agreeing with the majority view. Someone has an alternative view, if you are not able to respond without insult - directly or indirectly - then ignore it.
It's clear why the thread got locked and it's pretty evident that these issues have not been resolved. As I've said for some time now, the rules exist for everyone or no one. Good luck with the new Liverpool thread, part of me can't help but think that you're giving in to some who think that they are above the rules, particularly the coward who thinks they can create a fake account to insult others.
I'm with im on this. The football forum should have the same rules applied to it as the rest of pistonheads. Just ban those who cross the line. I wouldn't dream of calling someone a prick because they drove, for instance, an Audi on one of the motoring threads so I see no reason why it should be acceptable on the football threads.

I've always enjoyed fans from other clubs contributing to our thread. They're not dheads, they're intelligent, informed supporters, and it's good fun IMO.
People call them WUMs, but I think that's short sighted. Who can fail to enjoy the Spurs fans im and Mickk? Even the man utd scum have reasonable guys in Keyser Sozer, and CIE560. The Arsenal fans are fairly quiet, but BCM makes up for the rest of his fellow, silent gooners.
Vive la difference

Make the official team threads for the team supporters only. Will get rid of 90% of the "banter" and repeating arguments/debate that most of the actual fans know about, but non fans use intentionally to start arguments.
I don't know how tricky it would be to implement, but a a sticky at the top of the forum stating that the official threads are only for fans of that team would be pretty clear. The thread regulars will know who belongs in which thread, and the sign will be at the top of the forum, so there's no excuses.
I say that only because it worked on the Football 365 forums, and it was the only way to stop the trolling from opposite supporters. And there is an awful lot of that, whether any of them will admit it or not, it's just too obvious, and should be, even to a neutral.
I think it would definitely help. Unlike some on here, I don't come to the football section for "banter", I come to keep up to date with my team, I really don't care about any other teams. If people want to talk about the week's games and the other teams, they can do that in the general MOTD thread.
If that won't work, then a fresh start and final warning for everyone now, and then straight bans in the future.
Sounds great but there is only one football teams forum that is locked & that had nothing to do with supporters of rival teams.I don't know how tricky it would be to implement, but a a sticky at the top of the forum stating that the official threads are only for fans of that team would be pretty clear. The thread regulars will know who belongs in which thread, and the sign will be at the top of the forum, so there's no excuses.

This could be a great thread for posters to say what they feel is acceptable & what is not, there is no way in a million years that friendly ribbing will not exist on any football forum

Been lurking the football section for sometime now, only posted about 3 times, in the past few months the behavior has, in my opinion, deteriorated.
Most of the regulars here are a great bunch indeed (I should really post more in this section) it's just a small minority that seem to ruin it for others.
Anyway, good luck with finding a solution. I may post more now .

Doesn't it make you wish you'd actually gone to Vegas with all the grief the coward has caused with the fake account? In my view, if the thread reopens and the wuming continues, it will only be a matter of time before things kick off again. But I hope a solution can be found, i like PH for the diversity of subject matter, incl the chance to talk about my team.
