So we are back, the outlook is improving I feel, very happy with the teams perofrmance in the last 2 games, not to mention the spirit which seems to be growing in leaps and bounds. Whilst we may not reach the heady heights of 4th, I believe we will be close. Hopefully with a cup or 3 in the trophy room as well smile

I don't think you'll be within 15 points of 4th. If ever there was a game to win it was yesterday, against the arch enemy, on the first date at home after the Hillsborough decision. I can't remember the whole game but I don't remember chance after chance or anything.

Still, the youngsters will get a chance, the question is just how long will the fans take "promising outlook" over results?

Top 10 and encouraging signs for the future once we get a striker who can finish - that would do me... Cups I don't care about - they mean more games and more chances of injuries. With resources scarce if we only played the 38 games in the Prem this year I would be happy...

Seriously? for Liverpool football club that is 'acceptable'?

And bar a couple of "decisions" we may well have had the result we wanted. But no use crying over spilled milk. The second part of your post for me is an easy answer - as long as it takes within reason ie if we are still sitting 20 - 30 points of the title in 2/3 seasons then enough. I do not buy into the instant results thinking and use the likes of SAF ( shudder ) and Wenger as examples of what I think we should be doing. All great sides have one of two things in common - insane amounts of cash thrown at them or given time to build a top side. I prefer the latter route as it is far more sustainable in the long term. All IMHO of course smile

Not long term, no. You think Rodgers is a miracle worker? We are in a complete mess. In a worse state than Souness left us in. Unless there are clear signs that Rodgers really doesn't know what he's doing, I suspect his job is secure this season. He will need that time to get us anywhere close to top 4. I, and many others, have already written off this season as a rebuilding season. Expectations are not that high - just looking for signs of getting back on track.

Totally agree with this. I'd settle with top 10 this season as long as I see an improvement in the performance of the team and integration of youth to replace/rotate the weaker members of the team. I would however think it inexcusable to not get a striker in during the January window.

Would you prefer a new sticker, or would you bring back Carroll, (assuming he isn't injured)?

Are you trying to suggest that a Panini sticker is more 3-dimensional than Carroll?

I don't think that he is saying that top 10 is acceptable for LFC. Taking a realistic look at the club and the damage that has been done over the last 5-6 seasons with lack of investment, poor buys and suspect tactics by the last 2 or 3 managers then top 10 and bringing a bit of stability to the squad with young players being brought in gradually would be a solid base to start from. TBH I think a large part of the problems last season was bringing in too many new players all at once. IIRC we had about 5 or 6 new players when I would think that maybe 2 or 3 would be enough to keep some stability for new blood to gel with.

I'd take the sticker over the 'strikers' you currently have available.

Didn't he get injured a few weeks ago? I'd like to see him get a bit of a run in the squad even if it is just to get him a few goals to raise his stock before selling. I saw a good few opportunities for crosses from Sterling and even Downing in the last couple of games when he'd be ideal to put the wind up the defence.

I happen to think rodgers is an excellent manager. i also happen to think if he finishes 9th he'll be out before you can say Harry Redknapp. laugh

You're not top 4 material granted (you might want to explain that to a few on here) but you’re not 10th bad either.

You still have a pretty good goalie, the england captain, suarez and a host of pretty exciting youngsters.

7th 8th at the worst and that would be pretty disappointing imho.

I would take a panini over a sticker and a striker.

We are well above a top 10 team sorry Flip, we will in the top 6, IT IS STILL VERY EARLY DOORS yet, remember Arsenal last year?? I am not saying we are as good as Arsenal but we are more than capable of going on a decent run. We are showing signs of understanding the way he wants to play and by that I dont mean passing I mean movement off the ball, come Nov/Dec I really fancy us to get going ...

So 2 idiots post on twitter something that they later withdraw and this fool of a referee decides to take offence and complain to the police.

As unpleasant as it may seem how is wishing that someone had died of cancer to be a criminal offence? Attention seeking imbecile who should be reflecting on his own inadequacies.

I'm not even sure how stuff like this even makes the news.

Where does it say 2?

When I looked last night there were many many tweets directed at him, to the point that Mark Halsey Cancer was trending in the UK at one point

Weren't there signs you were back on track with KK? The football was much better than under Roy I remember reading. Why'd he get the sack?

If you finish above where you did last season I'd say that was an absolute result and a good season with the squad where it is now.
