Not a handball, but DiCanio vs Everton. Keeper injured, he caught the ball and stopped play. Always respected him after that.
I was really referencing the honesty involved, not the detail of the incident. Fowler could have got a penalty/goal but chose the honourable route.

Even when he was pushing referees over and being accused of racism?

Players have good and bad days don't they?

Mansfield town Manager

“To be honest, I don’t think he did anything wrong. It was instinctive. I don’t want to be too hard on him [Suarez], as I think he’s a fabulous talent,” said our boss.

“What we should do is embrace the football talent that he has, rather than this incident. His body language afterwards, in not celebrating, told me that he was expecting to be flagged [offside].

They do. As I said, I appreciated the sportsmanship he showed. regarding good and bad days, your chap in red seems to have plenty. Exceptional talent somewhat soiled by numerous incidents.

They have had 2 players do an interview and a manager, all of which have said if it happened to them they would have claimed it....

Just like a shed load of others would.

If Mansfield don't have any complaints about it why should it bother you?

Speaking of payers who have issues staying on the right side of the laws of the game, is Fellaini going to be playing for Everton tomorrow or will you be resting him?

Why does it bother me? Not because it was cheating, or anything like that, but because the officials should have seen it. It bothers me because Mansfield played a blinder and miss out on a potential Anfield game, and so on. Possibly losing out on that due to a dodgy unpenalised handball goal sucks ass.

I presume he will be on the bench, and Moyes will give Barley a shot in the middle, or Naismith. As for on the wrong side of the law, I was man ape ouch to call him a prick for doing what he did, when he did it. wink

OK

Lets put it this way,

Everton v Liverpool its 1 - 1 and in the 89th Minute jags handles the ball in the area, ref does not see but its obvious to anyone he did it. Do you expect him to run after the ref or should I say will he run after the ref to tell him he handled it and that Liverpool should be awarded a pen?

NO he wont and nor would I expect him too.

I don't disagree.

Suarez can be as infuriating as he can amazing.

Plenty of great players are like that though aren't they?

Christiano Ronaldo
Cantana
Roy Keane
Klinsman
Di Canio
Maradonna
Balotelli

We can go on all night listing amazing players with seemingly huge character flaws.

Perhaps it's the desire to win at seemingly any cost?

Yes, they are, and plenty of players get talked about. Ronaldo, Drogba, Terry, Shawcross, Ballotelli, Fellaini, and so on. I think sometimes you guys only have ears for Suarez. Suarez gets talked about she. He 'does stuff', just like other players.

That would be no different to a 'wrong' decision during a derby then, which was complained about enough I recall. I don't ever like dodgy decisions... I think they ruin the game, and cost teams dearly. We had 2 goals disallowed against Newcastle earlier this season which cost us points. Wrong decisions suck no matter who they are against.

I dont think anyone is saying it was not the wrong decision, its the witch hunt that again follows Suarez.

But like there own camp is saying, no one would have done any different but it was the wrong decision. WE ALL AGREE

This is different IMO. Mansfield made a magnificent gesture of respect and solidarity towards Liverpool and the 96. The Liverpool players would have been aware of this and if ever there was a time where the "win at all costs" approach should have been forgotten this was it.

I don't think I have said that Suarez cheated, or anything. I simply commented on other things folks brought up.

Agreed. I'm getting tired of defending my stance on Suarez... rolleyes

The players mentioned above all have flaws. Ronaldo and Drogba used to go down too easily; Shawcross is a reckless, nasty tackler; Terry has a horrible character and Fellaini is all too fond of sly, sneaky, spiteful stuff and Balotelli just loses his rag too often and does daft things.

With Suarez, I just think the combination of all of them at times does my head in. That's why I don't like him and although I'll happily admit that he is a brilliant player who is unplayable at times, in my eyes he has badly tarnished that image with a dozen or more issues since he's been on these shores.

Someone said earlier footballers have good and bad days which is true of many of the players listed above

Suraez just has bad and worse days
