Maureen and Pep - where will they go?
Discussion
I'm not convinced either will be in England next season - despite the press lathering their pants at the thought of it.
Yes, Mourinho in particular is saying very nice things about the EPL this week but that could also be a small warning to Madrid that he'll go if he gets any interference in his plans for Madrid - which probably involve getting rid of some iconic figures.
Anyway, he's still a young man really and has plenty of time to manage other clubs before settling back here - PSG for starters.
Pep...well he's shown a preference for Arsenal's club ethos and on the face of it they look like a good fit for him but Wenger would need to go (upstairs or out completely) and I don't think the board are champing-at-the-bit to do that although no ECL next season might conceivably change that.

Yup, Champions of Europe twice in 26 yrs. Mourinho and Pep will never get close.
How many times has either of them rebuilt a title winning team time and time again? So I think the belongs to you. Champions league isn't the be all and end all!Personally I can see David Moyes coming to United.

Well, things just got rather interesting. It looks like they are both coming back to the Prem this summer - where will they go, it's intriguing.
Chelsea will no doubt be chasing Pep, but City (having lost the title to Utd) have the Barca backroom staff which hints they will have him - but where does that leave Maureen? I can't see Abramovich going back and Fergie reckons he isn't retiring yet. Although... if he wins a 20th title for Utd it could be a decent swansong....
Thoughts?
I hope Mourinho comes back to Chelsea and Pep, I reckon he'll go to City or United. I think Abramovich will pursue Pep avidly, and offer him the earth, in much the same way they pursued Ancelotti. However Pep will say no to Chelsea, given the shenanigans with previous managers. I don't think he could trust Abramovich. Mourinho is an interesting one. The relationship between him and Abramovich has thawed and indeed warmed over the past year or 2, as I believe RA has realised his mistake in sacking him in the first place, however I think Mourinho will only go back under certain conditions, ie he has control over team matters and that might not be possible. The other destination for him would be Utd, but as said before, I don't see Fergie leaving soon.Well, things just got rather interesting. With regards to the Fergie argument, I dislike Utd as much as every other fan of British teams other than Utd, however, one has to acknowledge he's been a phenomenon. His league record is unbelievable and probably will never be replicated. I agree he hasn't won the CL as many times as a dominant team should have, nonetheless, the way his teams play for him and always get a result is truly remarkable. It's kind of what used to happen at Chelsea with Mourinho, and he has tried hard to emulate Fergie.

Mourinho is out of Madrid at the end of this season. I don't believe France would be a challenging enough league for him. I strongly suspect he'll be back in England next season, but where? I would love to see him back at Chelsea obvs. He never should have been sacked in the first place.Yes, Mourinho in particular is saying very nice things about the EPL this week but that could also be a small warning to Madrid that he'll go if he gets any interference in his plans for Madrid - which probably involve getting rid of some iconic figures.

Edited to add, I think Pep could well go to Arsenal. He's a good fit for them, plays their sort of football and I think Wenger will be shown the door out or upstairs as you say.

But didn't we all think Jose would be back this season. As I recall he was 'talking up' his love for England and disaafection with Spain back then, only for him to suddenly announce that he'd be seeing out his contract at Madrid after all.At strategic points in time I strongly suspect he's playing mind games in order to get what he wants in the place he's currently at - and we all know that right now he is having big issues in the dressing room with established stars - much the same kinda thing as we're led to believe AVB had with terry et all.

Just heard that too. Good fit I agree and I'm glad he's said no to Abramovich.
Agreed. Good fit and we'll see what he can do without the likes of Messi, Xavi and Iniesta. I have a feeling he will do very well.
He's gone from one of the best teams in Spain (A two team league), to basically the best team in Germany (A 1 team league?).
