I have to go to an event at The Emirates this week. Banging it into Google Directions makes it look like a very simple case of M1, A1, then you're half a mile away.

I'm assuming parking is at the stadium (don't have the details to hand) but if it is, is there anything to watch out for that might not be obvious from the maps/directions?

Think you'd be better off parking on the outskirts like Cockfosters and getting the tube, unless you have reserved parking at the stadium I don't think there's much around.

Unless you like Kebabs.

Just checked and it seems not. Paying is fine so any suggestions would be welcome.

It's all meters around the stadium as far as I'm aware, so It'll be restrictive. Tube would be so much easier.

Cocfosters to Arsenal is only a short ride. Google for a local NCP if you have to drive in.

park at cockfosters and get the tube down, or walthamstow if you dont mind a change of tube lines.

I assume you're going for a gig or an Arsenal game (pretty safe assumption smile )so you'll be competing with 60,000 other people on public transport and thousands of others who will also part at cockfosters or the surrounding area. So, my advice- LEAVE EARLY. Stupidly early. Take a look around the stadium, do a tour or go to a pub before hand, but LEAVE EARLY!

I suspect this is where a bit of local knowledge comes in handy - when coming down from the Midlands is there somewhere on the outskirts that makes more sense to park and take the train than to try to park more centrally?

Cockfosters map shows parking but I assume you'd need to pray to find a space at 8am on a weekday?

A conference so need to be there 9am ish - fk all to do with football I posted in The Lounge so I suspect a mod has simply seen "Emirates" and moved it smile

So I'd hope the traffic/parking challenges will "only" be whatever you'd expect on a normal weekday morning.

I'd watch out for this.

If you see it, you're probably getting very close -

That's a blot on the landscape if ever I saw one.

There is a car park at Cockfosters but failing that take the first left after the Tube station (assuming you approach on your left) and you can park on the street. No restrictions that I can remember although I haven't parked there for a couple of years.

Yes. If you're coming from the north, make sure you have the doors locked as you drive through Tottenham.
