that 2009 game though...surely barca as major beneficiaries of that game in particular would be more culpable for allegations?
begs the question as to how you can easily fix a footy match...
officials....obviously, goalkeeper?
depends on what is being bet on too i guess...fixing the result would be very difficult i assume...but no.s of corners, giving a penalty away, etc etc would be easier...
i suspect this will run for a while

I guess none of the Chelsea fans will remember playing the likes of Plymouth Argyle as it was at least 25 odd years back.
I remember going down on the train for a game in about 76/77. I would have been about 13. It was one of the first long distance away games I went to on my own. We won 3-2, it was a thriller. 24 yrs since we last played them, in 89 when we won the old Div 2, never to return (match fixing aside)

That must have been one empty fking train! 24 yrs since we last played them, in 89 when we won the old Div 2, never to return (match fixing aside)
As I said earlier, unless it's the Club's owners in on this then I can't see it happening.
Someone mentioned Juve earlier, but I am sure that involved the entire management at the football club and match officials. Weren’t they picking their own referees who they no doubt bunged a few million lira to?
The article does not accuse an English team or player. It just says that the match was in England. Of course it might be involving players belonging to English teams, but there is nothing concrete in the article which says this
The great news is it can´t be my team, the Saints as it´s bee a while since we had a forray into Europe

That's what came to my mind.
I'd be very, very surprised if an English club has any blame what so ever.
It's just a hunch and it may well get me shot but i reckon that Mr Abromavich has broken a rule once or twice in his life, i doubt rigging a football match would be that far beyond him. I'd be very, very surprised if an English club has any blame what so ever.

If its proven, regardless of who it is they should be booted out of the Premiership and face a long term suspension in Europe.
Indeed , good thing about about it is it clearly leaves Liverpool in the clear Not sure whom i'd want it to be
Arse, Man u or Chelsea , any will do
