Tony Gubba, one of the most iconic voices of British football died today after a short illness, aged 69.

This year was Gubba’s 41st season as a soccer commentator. He had the honor of being the third-longest serving commentator of all time on British television after John Motson and Gerald Sinstadt.

He also commentated at every World Cup from 1974 to 2006.

Yeah, RIP. One of the names (and voices) in football which I remember from my early years as a young footy van.
