PFA team of the year: De Gea. Zabaleta, Ferdinand, Vertonghen, Baines. Hazard, Carrick, Mata, Bale. Van Persie, Suarez.

De Gea has massively improved from when he first came but there have been some keepers who have player brilliantly all year and it is suppose to be TEAM OF THE YEAR, Not most improved...

Simon Mignolet should be in there instead of De Gea.

De Gea and Rio are a bit surprising, rest looks about right.

I wouldn't have objected to Mignolet to be honest, but the rest look spot on to me. smile

I think De Gea has been better than Mignolet TBH. However not sure how Hazard is in there, also would have expected Cazorla in there too, no Michu either.

Ferdinand is an odd choice but other than that hard to argue. Carrick maybe but he hasnt had a bad year at all in fairness so wont go by my abu bias smile

Hard to argue with that team. Ferdinand has had a sneaky good year. He rarely makes a mistake and they've kept quite a few clean sheets.

The only one that I was surprised with was Hazard, but I'm also struggling to think of a player to go in instead.

Gerrard should be in played every minute of every game till Saturday and had one of his best season's 9 goals and 9 assists far better than anything Carrick has done! However I'm not surprised he's not in the team.

Not really.....only one who may have been knocking on the door was Cazorla but he's not been as good in the second half of the season. Mainly because he's being flogged to within an inch of his life!

I thought the same - he's played well this year, when he has played, no doubt but I would have put Jagielka or Cahill in ahead of Rio.

Carrick has been excellent all season, can't really think of too many other players that would have got in...

Michu has faded, Benteke - half a season,

Rafael, Evra (had a shaky start) and Yaya Toure perhaps a tad unlucky not to get in but the midfield and forward line hard to beat...

cazorla for hazard perhaps???

you measure a player by statistics ?
carrick has single handedly carried the united midfield this season. He isnt a goalscorer, and usually plays too deep to be creating loads of goals,he is the metronome of the team,he keeps it ticking,he had a couple of poor seasons imo from 2009 to 2011 but apart from that has been uniteds most consistent player since he came.

Can't remember if i saw it on here but i saw a suggestion that players should be rated at the end of each month. Come the end of the season these points are then tallied up. This could work for both team of the year and player of the year. Would also prevent someone from having a poor start to the season but having a good run of form come the time for voting.
