Good win for you chaps today.

Re the captaincy, if everyone at Arsenal was fit would Arteta even make the first XI?
Tough one, I'm not sure to be honest. Ozil would obviously be first XI and I think he'd take Jacks place. We have so many options in midfield it really is tough to figure out a first XI. If we get a DM in which I think we do need to do then no. At this moment in time, yes.

Chambers looked okay, think we'll see much of him this year?

Reading Wenger's post match comments without a doubt...he described Chambers as "outstanding" and I have a feeling he 's going to be our third choice CB this season. Wenger also said "TV5 had a lot of choices which tells you how few top quality CB's are available".

I've rarely heard Wenger talk in such glowing terms of a player his age and give him as much game time in a position where it's really hard to blood young players....there's no hiding at CB.

There's a lot to be optimistic about but we still need that midfield powerhouse.

Ramsay will be your player of the season if he stays injury free. Wilshere could learn a thing or three from him if he could be arsed.

He came back to the club early to get his fitness up. One of our best players today. Jack has the ability within him
to make a lot of people who doubted him look very silly. I've got a feeling he's going to have a very good season.

Nice to see Pat Rice looking well... coffee

Also is it me or does Monreal look more comfortable playing centreback than he does left back?

Is he recovering? That'd be good news.

Going to be very interesting to see how JW reacts this year...certainly he's got the role model in Ramsey and he's got all the ability in the world. Anyone who saw the 18yr old play against Barca when they were at their strongest knows that. Best I think I have ever seen an 18yr old midfielder play....he was incredible that night.

I am away on holiday so haven't seen any of the game yesterday...did they play 4-3-3 ?

I think that could work really well for us this year against the big teams. Arteta, Ramsey and Wilshere playing behind a three of Sanchez, Ozil and Walcott. Pace to scare teams on the break and enough numbers to compete in midfield.

More of a 4-1-4-1 yesterday.

That was really rather well played by you chaps yesterday.

Disposed of those Citeh mercenaries with ease, I thought.

You must be anticipating the season with relish.

All lick Wenger's balls.

Seen a bit about it being a weak Man City side....clearly Toure, Dzeko, Jovetic, Fernandinho, Navas, Nasri, Silva etc were all free transfers.

Or did they all cost more than every Arsenal player that was playing yesterday except Sanchez.

The great news is for Arsenal that we're now knocking on the door really hard and there's plenty of room for improvement in our team both in how we play and with having so many young players who are nowhere near there peak.

Yes, I've been lsitening that brain dead neanderthal on Talksport banging on about Man City's weakened team.

Funny, I could have sworn we were missing 3 world cup winners and a full England international!

Not forgetting the 19 year old CB making only his third start in that position.

My heart bleeds for City, it's a shame they can't buy fans as easily as they've bought success. 15k tickets went begging yesterday. Big club my arse.

No doubt the spin on that is the game was more important to Arsenal.

Which is true, it probably was. But do you think United or Liverpool would have left 15k tickets unsold? Nah, me neither.

Agree.

Arsenal should be very happy with the result, it was well earned and shows the team is looking good for the new season.
