Can fully understand him wanting to come home to London & end his Merseyside nightmare.
Are they going to offer the greedy tt more than the the £180k a week that Liverpool did ?
Unless of course he's waiting to see if Liverpool get CL football next season ? not looking good there either .

Well the only story I saw was from the Daily Mail - and that said 'Even if he was offered 180k a week, he would turn it down''
Maybe I missed one that said ''Raheem HAS turned down £180k a week'' ??
Thought this was quite a good piece sye...http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/liverpool/11510926/Raheem-Sterlings-interview-was-opportunitistic-offensive-and-a-massive-PR-own-goal-with-Liverpool-fans.htmlMaybe I missed one that said ''Raheem HAS turned down £180k a week'' ??

So did I. The whole situation smacks of him angling to get out of the club, and frankly I couldn't give a toss one way or the other. The funny thing is, even if we don't offer him a new contract and run this one down the only way he's going for free is abroad. Anyone else will have to pay what a tribunal says. If we let it run down it'll have cost him in the region of 70k a week for two years, or about 7-8 million. Suck it up, Raheem.

Yep - seems to me he is getting some awful advice - from a agent who has just set up his own business and looks like he wants the fee of a transfer to helpTo do that interview was mad - especially when no-one at LFC new about it....

Yeah, but it's not about the money is it, so he keeps telling usSuck it up, Raheem.
Seems the Liverpool faithful are running out of patience with him too & who can blame them.

He's got 2 years left on his contract and obviously the club don't want him to leave for free. But then he doesn't want to commit to a club that might be playing EL for the foreseeable future. His negotiations all seem a bit of a non-story TBH. What is odd is his interview, the leaking of the negotiations etc - orchestrated no doubt by his agent. Not sure what they hope to achieve.
Dont quite agree with you Hornet - If LFC are to move forward we need to be keeping players like him - already at 20 he is who we look too, he is only going to get better for me and to see him playing in another shirt in the prem at 24/25 and being the player I think he will become would hurt - also sends out a really bad message about LFC - Lose him after losing Suarez is NOT good for LFC no matter how you look at it - he is currently Golden Boy winner and coveted by many tops clubs - he leaves the message goes out no top player wants to stay at Liverpool - BAD BAD move, no matter if we already have a replacement in IBE

In that case you need to come up with a number that you think it's worth paying him and see whether he accepts. No different to our position with Modric. He wanted to leave for a regularly CL team. Maybe if we had offered him £400k a week, he might have decided to stay. Probably not worth committing the club to a £104m 5 year contract though.....So, how much do you think Sterling is worth over the next 5 years?
