sorry - have to disagree there. we don't see English talent week in week out in the premier league.
the clubs have taken the PL money and built themselves the dynasties to see their survival long into the future for a lot of clubs.
the FA is increasingly powerless vs the premier league and given that the national team is still run by the FA - I use the term run loosely - that is still a massive problem.
its an old argument but still hugely relevant. point the finger in whichever direction you want - foreign managers, selection policies, purchasing and loan policies, club finances, TV money all can be deemed partly responsible for the current state of the national team....oh and the FA again of course.
the success of the junior England teams this summer will be for nothing if the players winning this summer don't get top flight football week in week out.
As a Spurs fan I see plenty of it week in week out. Half the starting 11 are English. There is plenty of it to pull together a 25 man squad playing at the very top of the PL and playing with and against some of the other best players in Europe. sorry - have to disagree there. we don't see English talent week in week out in the premier league.

I've seen Leicester win the league and Portugal win the Euros in the last couple of years with teams with way less talent than the England team can put out on any given day. What we don't have is a manager capable of putting out a team with a style and objectives.
It's also not helped that the weaker teams that England face are much more organised than they used to be and are happy parking the bus and hitting on the counter.
You only have to look at Liverpool and Spurs for the difference it makes when teams play that style against them compared to when they face someone willing to attack a bit.
Hey guys, look at this. We’re 25/1 to win the World Cup.

Anybody fancy a punt?
ETA. - If you look down the odds some bookies have us at just 18/1. Mad.
