Does the performance matter if the outcome is 2 goals?
No but on the flip side does the stat padding matter if they’d have won without his contribution anyway?Let’s face it, he’s obviously a phenomenal poacher but that’s all he is now. Without being served up chances and penalties on a plate from his team he offers nothing.
Messi on the other hand doesn’t have that luxury. He had to become the best current free kick taker in world football just to keep Argentina in games.

Tell me you didn't watch the match without telling me you didn't watch the match. Let’s face it, he’s obviously a phenomenal poacher but that’s all he is now. Without being served up chances and penalties on a plate from his team he offers nothing.

Why do Ronaldo haters always have to bring up Messi? It's bizarre.

But Messi has had to resort to free kicks as he cannot score in open play and that’s a good thing?

What game did you watch? He scored 2 goals, 1 of which was a penalty. What else did he in the game apart from miss an awful sitter? Why do Ronaldo haters always have to bring up Messi? It's bizarre.
Oh wait for it, now we come to “hurr it’s irrelevant he scored 2 SIUUU”.
I’ll assume that’s a facetious question and that you aren’t genuinely confused as to why the 2 get compared. I mean in reality they shouldn’t because it’s not even close in terms of who the best player is but it’s all opinion at the end of the day.

So Ronaldo is just a goal poacher now? So all the 29 goals he scored for Juve this season where poached?

Of course he is lol, case in point:But Messi has had to resort to free kicks as he cannot score in open play and that’s a good thing?
Nowhere to be seen. Why? Because he’s a receiver.
Again there’s nothing wrong with it, no one ever slags of the likes of Lineker, Van Nisteroy etc. But it’s annoying when people make out he’s a one man band when the reality is that he very much relies on his team.

Where did I say that? Where did I say that every. single. one. of his goals must be a tap ins/headers/penalty to warrant him being described as a poacher?
When someone implied your comments were asserting he was a goal poacher and you said “of course he is, lol” Bizarre
Edit to add - when you said he’s a phenomenal poacher

Done. Still stand by what I said. Shock.
Doesn’t make an ounce of sense but okay. Not sure why it’s so difficult to comprehend that someone’s main play style can be considered that of a poacher and that doesn’t necessarily mean that there will never be instances of play making or creating his own goals every now and then. Of course, don’t just take my word for it:
'Now he's not doing as much running in games, he's not as explosive, but he's just basically a poacher.’
According to ex team mate Gary Neville. Not the first time he’s called him a poacher either.
