Just watching this match vs Newcastle, you guys are crying out for someone that can finish! It should be about 5-1.
Agree. Given that the Cherries aren't poor, they should bid £15 million for Charlie Austin in January. Don't think Glenn Murray is the answer and King, Stanislas and Rantie haven't enough goals in them, IMO. It looks like little old Bournemouth will have some money to spend in January. Now owned by not just 1 but 2 billionaires!

Possibly the trickiest game of the last few weeks, up against a typically ugly thuggish Pulis team. Can you imagine having to watch that every week? At least Pulis didn't try to excuse either of the cards and that first one for the tackle on Smith had the potential to be a leg-breaker. Skill won out though not before a few scares and some poor defending for their equaliser. 11 points from 5 games though, and that's put us almost half-way to a target of 40 for safety with two games to the mid-point of the season. An interesting game coming up against Palace on Boxing Day, with all the focus (understandably) on Leicester and Vardy this season Palace seem to have gone under the radar to put quite a season together themselves.
In a moment of madness I've just bought a ticket for game at Sunderland. Now I need to work out how to get there.
Official coach, £32 comparative bargain but 5am start. I can't read on a coach which means dozing and looking out the window which will get a bit boring after a while.
Flights, £150+ and leaves early Sat, returns late Sunday so cost of an overnight stay needed. And what do do hanging around Sunderland from 9am on Saturday and until the flight leaves on Sunday?
Train, £150+ is my preferred means of transport for away games but it will be a close call for getting back afterwards though I can break the journey in London and stay with daughter if necessary. On the plus side I can spend the journey reading which is always a good way to pass the time.
Drive .... About £140 in fuel, could car-share to bring that down a bit. Can I do this in a day? Anyone driven to one of the north-east grounds before and if so how long did it take, how tiring was it? Google maps reckons 6hrs, seems a bit optimistic to me.
Any other suggestions?

Not sure where you are starting from but assume it's from Bournemouth area. I did Bristol to Carlisle recently and www.theaa.com suggested 4 hrs 32 mins to drive it which was hugely optimistic. Granted, I was going up on a Friday afternoon but the motorways were a nightmare earlier than usual and having left home at 12.15pm, I arrived in Carlisle at 8.45pm with three stops totalling 90 minutes. That's seven hours driving. Official coach, £32 comparative bargain but 5am start. I can't read on a coach which means dozing and looking out the window which will get a bit boring after a while.

I'd go by train and stay with your daughter.

Thanks GM. Yes, starting from Poole. Sounds like a nightmare trip to Carlisle for you especially as you've got the M5 on your doorstep - I'd expect to do here to the Lakes in 5-6 hrs leaving after work. But it does highlight that I really don't need to arrive too late for the game if driving!I'd go by train and stay with your daughter.
