that said, we not troubled by you as on pitch rivals (as lets face it you are never gonna win the league), its simply local bragging rights!

re that list theres the other one that does the rounds about the spurs 'honors' list on their website...some extremely 'tenuous' honors mentioned to fill it out a bit smile

Ease up fella, i don't hate Arsenal in fact i don't hate anyone, You seem to be taking this far too seriously.

Just a game dude.
oh dont get me wrong, when i say hate i mean in football terms, not general, once the games gone i don't care, and the limit of my hate is wishing your team and players ill and hoping you lose, and a bit of chanting with the rest when the emirates can be arsed.

But anyone who has been to an NLD at WHL and had to be escorted to the ground and then left the away end after will see what actual visceral (wanting to harm you) hate is...harking back to the days of ICF and N17/yid army types, not to mention the throwing of items...not that i would sully myself in such matters!

Yeah, because that never ever happened at Highbury (the old stadium, cant comment on the new one) did it...

might have done, but i was in the NB so never saw it. My spurs mate sometimes sat next to me but didn't wear colors for obvious reasons and never went in the away end for NLD's

my reference to hate in my op was in football terms if that makes sense, (to me it does) ie wanting you to get knocked out of europe, the cups, do badly etc, the hate i describe experiencing and seeing at WHL, and what you infer happened at highbury too. is actual hate and not to be condoned in anyway.

doubt it does at the new stadium, so sanitized and full of JCL's and tourists is it.

edit and hopefully doesn't at new WHL (if its ever finished wink )

This is a great piece on Arseblog by a columnist about what it's like going to WHL....the writer attends every Arsenal him and a way game and I think recently missed his first game home or away for ten years!

https://arseblog.com/2015/09/spurs-away/

Only been to WHL once and that was in a corporate box so walked out in a suit....wouldn't like to come out of the Arsenal end!

I remember being on the North Bank in the 80's and the hate was very, very real when Spurs came visiting. One song which was a variation on 10 Green Bottles would raise eyebrows today....

One year a group of probably thirty Spurs fans snuck onto the North Bank and maybe 20 mins into the game up went the Spurs chant....I was too close for comfort. fk me never want to see anything like that ever again!

The atmosphere at these games is nothing like as aggressive as it used to be thankfully...it's aggression not hate I would say. 30 years ago it was hate.

seems spurs have added the 1-1 draw against Barca reserves and kids to their list of honors on the website, right alongside the Ipswich Hospital cup (joint).

imagine if they actually won something...!

Fair play they got a result when needed away, but all the crap about how well they played, best performance at Nou Camp etc (according to the idiot Gulliame Ballague, who just happens to be flogging a spurs book...) they are ignoring the huge elephant in the room, the team, (and effort, well lack of) put out by their opponents.

Completely ignoring it.

That's why they are generally the most disliked set of fan they have no perspective.

Likewise some on their are taking credit for developing certain players from the youth ranks (alli was signed they seem to forget) and all on a shoestring...again ignoring the fact that they are owned and funded (yes 'but we dont spend any money, or wages', oh yea cos your star players keep renewing out of love of the club, not the clever bonus scheme that isn't declared in wage spend built into their contracts) by the richest man in Britain!

Barca said screw the integrity of the competition effectively beforehand saying inter have only themselves to blame as they should have qualified already.

That said serves Inter right, crap side, just defend all game and hope icardi nicks one.

And it means they don't drop into Europa and knock us out!

Putting my tin hat on for our noisy neighbors inevitable comments!

the perception i get but then mines based on mostly London fans, so Chavs, Hammers, etc. and my own irrational view!

i wish we were more hated, the days of everyone hating arsenal with GG in charge or early wenger were good, the latter day nice football under wenger with JCL's etc liking us was not good.

Every club has a group of fans who are generally s of the wrong sort.

Many of my mates are spurts fans and i can live with that because the banter is generally very good.

For me it's the front line gesture-making fans who give the sport that ugly image. Every club has them... except us, of course.

Yeah I've had many good convos/debates with Spurs fans on here over the years and in 'real' life.

On the other hand was once threatened with death by a Plymouth supporter for walking through 'his' city. hehe

Knuckle-dragger.

I do find it funny when some fans have it bad (but not like the one above). I know of a totnum-til-I-die fan who had to entertain clients to a game of their choice. Just his luck it was corporate at the Emirates hehe

He took a newspaper to put on his seat so that he didn't catch the Arsenal.

Koscielny at fault for both Southampton goals, in my view.

As the central man in a back three, he twice let’s their CF occupy space behind (opposed to where ball is) and just gives him free rein. Positional sense is useless.

I know there’s a CB shortage but surely this part of his play...he could self-improve!?

It’s his first full league game after how many months out, didn’t expect much else to be honest? He was way off the pace but I’m not sure we had any other choice other than playing Elneny at CB or one of the academy players. After 22 games it was bound to go pear shaped eventually, better today than Wednesday night...

My point is, he was doing the same stuff before he got injured.

Always has been a player that doesn’t read the movements of the opposing forwards around him, and just relied on pace and recovery to make it up.

That inability to read their attack makes any back three, four, porous. He just looks at and tries to play the incoming balls, not retard any opposition from making use of it. Tony Adams would be screaming at Bould or Keown or whoever to make sure Ings would have been covered. Koscielny does his own merry thing and doesn’t - for instance - manage Monreal, Lichsteiner, Xhaka into a unit.

Sure he’d have made France’s WC squad but with Umtiti, Varane etc he’s just back up. Those guys watch the ballplay and also ensure any attacker gets a rough ride and is watched tightly.
