Superb performance this afternoon, well deserved winners, if only they could play like that every week! Not there today, but my boys are - they said the atmosphere has been unreal. I suspect they may be a little tipsy on their return later.

Great team effort for a change, best I've seen us play this season by some considerable way.

Amazing how quiet this thread is now (myself included) the apathy is strong amongst us Gooners. Still a much better performance today...where is that attitude every week ?!?! Must win game against the oldest enemy stirred something. If only they could keep it going/play like that away from home.

New Chief Scout replacing Rowley who's been there for 25 years....sounds like he was very well thought of at Dortmund and clearly they've had a good record of signing some high quality young players over the years.

Given Wenger's apparent avowed hatred of change it's a good sign I think that some of the very fking obvious issues are being dealt with

I ll go negative on that one I am afraid.

Once Wenger leaves, get a journey-man manager in and keep the fountain of youth going through the club to Man City/Chelsea/Real/Barca etc....

It is cheaper to do that than buy expensive managers and players......in my opinion of course!

Looks like you put out a second string because you didn't have to win the game?

The reality is that it was a nothing game played by reserves who showed little desire to break into the first team.

I was mildly encouraged that, on paper, it looked a decent side to be fielding but... Wenger.

Can someone explain the Debuchy/Chambers thing to me? We have a RB in Debuchy playing as a RCD and a CH/RCD (Chambers) playing as RB; the RB is on a yellow... we're searching for an equaliser (we don't need to win the game but let's not present any excuses, eh?) so he takes off Chambers and replaces the RB position with an attacking midfielder whilst still keeping the three at the back formation. WTAF? I would begin to understand if we were making overlapping runs down the wing but we were too busy passing to shadows through the congested middle.

Too much ball watching by most of them IMO.

Giroud is a lazy sack of st.

When you look at who was out there we should have done a whole lot better. Weve played much weaker teams earlier in the losers cup and still won games. I actually looked at the start and thought, strongish team tonight. There was only really Maitland Niles of the starting 11 that hasnt at some point been a regular first teamer.

Also, you would think that with so many 'on paper' lesser teams than Arsenal defending deep, we'd have - by now - worked out a way around this issue??!
