£20 million for Walnut.

I can't decide if Everton are that desperate or if it's a genius bit of business by Arsenal.

fk me, I was getting close to being happy to PAY 20 mill to get rid FFS.

Cech: i know he got badly injured, but IMO any goalie that needs to wear a crash hat on the pitch shouldn't be playing. It just tells the opposition he is scared, can't get stuck in, and cannot command his area. We should never have bought him.
He says he has to wear it for insurance purposes - I assume he means life/personal injury insurance.

You don't know what you're on about.

I find it more laughable what he said in his reply to this question.....

Wenger has been asked if Arsenal fans have to accept the club can't compete with the financial muscle of the two Manchester clubs?

"Financially yes," he said. "That doesn’t mean we can’t compete on the pitch.

Err...... not seen all that much competing on the pitch with them either in recent years from where I've been watching.

The only reason we can't compete financially, is because that is the conscious decision made by the owner in conjunction with his head henchman....or should that be Frenchman.....

As ever it'll depend on how well Walcott does after Arsenal.

A few months ago Arsenal fans thought they'd robbed us of £35m!

Ox has always been good in spurts so don't get too excited. The test will be if Klopp can get him to do it consistently over a season.

I agree with a lot of what's said on here, but that's way off the mark.

He has been good pretty much every game he played him bar his opening 2 when getting used to the team ..not sure what you have been watching

He has already scored 3 goals under Klopp - what was the most Wenger got out of him ? 2 ?

I'm not knocking him, don't get touchy hehe I like Ox and would be good to see him do well. As I said, over a season, not a few games, yes he's looked good so far but he's looked good for us many times and then faded away.

You'd hazard wrong, Liverpool are far better to watch currently than Arsenal.

Wonder why we are not in for Lucas Mora. Would have thought he would be a better replacement than either Miki or Abu (cant be bothered spell checking either name)

Up to last season, yes.

Last season it was 5 though, as he netted 3 times during our EFL Cup comp, to add to his 2 PL goals.

But, I have a feeling Klopp will get more out of him than AW did.

I wouldn't argue against that for a heartbeat but i still wouldn't watch them over the Arsenal. I liked Ox but he's moved on and good luck to him.

wenger is too blind to realise hes tarnishing his legacy every game that goes by. He is leaving he club in a worse position than he found it (which contrary to revisionists, was in a pretty good place). Hes ego has led him to stay for at the very least 5 years too many.
The last four league finishes before Wenger turned up were 4th, 10th, 4th and 12th.
True but in the last year rioch had just signed platt and DB10. Dont forget GG left him a load of crap. we were in an awul state in the dying days of GG's reign and i remember that even though i was just a kid. Rioch did a sound caretakerish job and we were going in the right direction, i wouldnt have wanted Rioch long term, but he stabilised us after GG and allowed a then groundbreaking wenger to add some sparkle and a solid midfield to the other ingredients that were already here.

With platt (much underrated in what he did for us imo, and DB10 on board there was only one way to go).

Things went stale under GG as they are under AW both stayed too long. Yet GG's record is better than AW if you factor in length of time in job...)

He's well beyond that; tarnishing? Corroded to excess as the MOT fail sheet used to say.
Its sad. Someone i once trusted and felt so proud of and believed in to what he has become in the last decade is astounding. its sad. he gave us the best of times. Arsene Knows used to be a thing. Now its a horrible meme. if someone was good at there job 10 years ago but is not performing now you dont keep them on.

Arsenal finished 2nd season before last and have won 3 FA Cups in 4 years.

Tainted legacy or ungrateful fans...
fa cup that no one cares about since united devalued it and 2nd in a 1 horse race...yeah we are so ungrateful...
WALOB.
how so?
The FA cup, its ridiculous to suggest that no one has cared about it for the last 17 years, completely ridiculous. No proper football fan would say that.
im not a proper fan then...

the big clubs have been fielding weakened team in it ever since. its willful blindness to claim they haven't. even those who haven't won a pot in years like totnum don't go all out for it.

The traditionalists and BBC maintain the magic of the FA cup but since the premier league ate itself and money became the be all and end all the cup has been dying ever since.
Even the BBC and the FA themselves aren't blameless.

Being an old git, I can remember the old days of the FA Cup being on a Saturday, covered by both BBC Grandstand and ITV World of Sport at the same time on TV, all the build up with cameras etc on the team coaches on the way to Wembley, all sorts of pre-match stuff, leading up to the 3pm kick-off.
The climax of each season.

The PL and CL have killed the FA Cup, and so have the FA by changing its own traditions, so its no wonder its not perceived to be the competition it was decades ago, well not for the bigger PL teams its not. Yes, if they win, like we have in recent years, but its clearly 3rd best trophy now, or maybe even 4th in rank, not effectively equal 1st as was in days of old.
yep i remember as a kid in the 90's the build up on the Saturday to the 3pm kick off usually on lovely sunny day, watching the helicopter pics of wembley way. it was a huge event. I remember the 97/98 double final that my bro and dad went to instead of me (well my bro is older, and the previous time i went to wmbley som hairy beast kissed me a wee lad when steve morrow scored in the league up final) around the garden in joy at it.
