We have a 7m net spend i believe in this window...

glad as i am the sh ite is being shoveled, is that small net spend and id imagine reduced wages (despite ozils ridic deal) stan withholding cash!

the media saying we couldn't afford Jonny bang average Evans cannot be serious surely. we still have 150m cash plus the huge TV deal. if we are short of cash where the hell is it going! yes the emirates deal is millstone still as their paying way under the going rate, as is the Puma deal. it just shows our commercial side is still massively lagging.

edit forgot mik so maybe not reduced wages

They've got rid of a huge amount of players in the last year.

Debuchy
Coquelin
Walcott
Giroud
Alexis (not got rid of...definitely left at his choice)
Oxlade-Chamberlain
Gibbs
Scezzer
Jenkinson
Campbell
Gabriel
Sanogo

Of that lot the only one I really think we should have kept is Scezzer....and you can definitely say some of those players can still do a job but IF the club is genuinely re-building and has ambitions of being a genuine contender I don't think any of them are good enough.
I think a number of them, were, or could have been made good enough by a better coach/manager.........
imo

debauchy i though looked good b4 that stoke scumbag (was it arnautovic) pushed him into the hoardings, and bellerin (who has regressed) then took his place.
wally could have been better under a proper coach, but not a star .
giroud would have been no better, coaching wise, but could have benefitted from playing with another striker 2 up front
ox could be immense
gibbs, never rated
schez...seems a complete tool and was average for us but seems to be doing well at juve
Jenkinson - pub league
Campbell on loan i though? better than iwobi
Gabriel - crap
Sanogo - wengers love child?

i havent been in side the bowl in 5 years i just cant see the point. Got a ST but sell it.

Not watched a game on TV or stream in a year, i dont even think ive watched us on MOTD once this season either. ive seen goal clips on SSN occasionally.

however i get plenty of feedback from the chaps who do still drum up the enthusiasm to go on my and the other ticket we have, some of whom were akbs up until last season bafflingly enough.
So you don't go or watch any of the Arsenal games ?

How can you have an opinion ?
what part of the last sentence don't you understand? if i was blind could i not have an opinion? can one not form an opinion based on weighing up what they read and what others relay first hand?

So what you're saying is your opinion is formed by listening to other people's opinions?

Interesting.

in a year nope.

whats changed though?

i havent seen laca, or kola is all.

the rest is the same old sh ite. or have we suddenly changed playing style, and all these guys become worldys since i last watched us regularly?

its been ground hog day for over 10 years, ive seen more than my fair share in that time to form an opinion and have it supplemented fro what ive missed first hand in the last year by speaking to those that do go, the media, and blokes from the gooner fanzine...

That article would imply that Arsenal have no room left to afford the wages of the replacements for Per and Cazorla.

The wage issue was apparently something that caused a lot of problems last summer.

However that article has a glaring omission from it...any growth in commercial revenue can be spent entirely on wages, it's the clubs to spend how they want. Arsenal's commercial revenue was up £10mil in the last financial year so effectively all of Ozil's payrise or PEA's entire salary can be removed from the wage cap calculation.

Then there is also the possibility of Arsenal ending the Puma kit deal early (as Chelsea did with their kit deal a couple of years ago)...speculation that we'll be switching to Adidas as they lost Chelsea a couple of years ago. That's expected to be a big uplift (to £50mil plus per season from £30 mil per season) on the Puma deal which has 18 months to run.

yep got reamed on the puma deal...we always seem to...its galling when a club of spurs size get a bigger kit deal shortly after we do, given we dwarf them in global presence, exposure and support. hope we do break it.

it also doesn't factor in creative accounting, which is a simple way around the restrictions...classing what income as what is a very grey area at some clubs.

At this point it feels like you're just making up stuff to beat your club with a stick with.

Tottenham have never had a bigger kit deal than Arsenal. They signed a £30m a year deal with Nike just last year. Your deal with Puma is also worth £30m a year but was signed 5 years ago!

Chelsea signed a £30m a year deal 1 year before yours, but they'd won both the Premier League and the Champions League in proceeding years. So that puts your deal into perspective and I'd say it was quite a good deal considering you'd won FA around that time.

I believe I'm right in saying that the only clubs with bigger deals than yours are Barcelona, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Chelsea (signed last year) and Utd.

That's it, Alfahorn, yeah I agreed with most of his points but he did dramatise it all a bit.
