"We are so worn down by the sheer effort of delivering it," Cullen added of the stadium, which will cost "£350-400million" – with the overall Northumberland Park project, including a hotel and nearly 600 new homes at closer to £850m.
So not £1bn on the stadium.
Indeed the stadium is about the same cost as the Emirates - give or take.
I'm not getting involved in this tedious debate again, but have you heard of the term 'spin'? https://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/new-tott...

I can’t believe that this stadium will not be at least double the price of what the Emirates cost,
I’m sure there were never the 3,000 daily workforce working on the Arsenal stadium.
I actually done a delivery at Spurs this morning & watched & I’d estimate at least 100 55” LG screens being offloaded . This stadium will be second to none believe me.

Watched the Lazio game on a stream last night. Not sure I’m any the wiser really. A few of the new arrivals got a run out, Lichsteiner and Torreira played, both acquitted themselves solidly as expected, Guendouzi came on in the second half, can’t remember who he replaced, possibly Xhaka or Nelson but we looked a damn sight better with him on, he’s definitely a prospect.
Defensively we played Holding & Chambers in the centre, I think we can safely say nothing has changed there, and if Lazio had someone actually capable of scoring rather than hitting row z with every shot or header we might well have lost by 5 or 6 - 2 rather than winning 2-0, they missed at least 3 absolute sitters.
Overall not a bad run out but i fear some work is needed on the defence before next weeks game against Citeh. Let’s just hope they’re still a bit hung over from the summer break because if they start like they ended last season and we defend like that it’s going to be Groundhog Day again.

Well, looks like Unai agrees with me, reports saying Chambers off to Fulham on loan for the season.
In answer to the abovequestion , I don’t think any of us have a clue what to expect really with so many changes. If the manager gets the new players to gel, top 4, yes, if not, it could well be worse than last season.

Can I just ask, are you guys ‘expecting’ a top 4 finish this season?
I'm not.However.....if Utd and Chelsea implode because of Maureen throwing a hissy fit at some point in the season, and/or Chelsea selling players and Sari not performing, then squeaking into 4th might be possible in those circumstances.

Why do you ask? Is it on the basis that we now have a new manager and he's made a few changes?First few games might give us an idea, but I think we'll need to look at the first half of the season to feel the fiber of our fabric.

I really like Guendouzi, he looks like a really talented guy. Nelson has had a decent pre-season too I think. I'm not expecting much of this year I don't think after watching the games we've played already, although I realise they might not be completely representative.
The opening game against City will be an absolute bloodbath I fear. Aguero, De Bruyne, David and Bernardo Silva, the two best (?) wingers in the league in Sane and Mahrez. That lot against our still shaky defence, I don't have much hope.

My expectations is City to win, with Liverpool and Spurs fighting over 2nd/3rd and then Utd and Chelsea and (hopefully us) scrapping over 4th-6th.....
Other than City winning and I feel Liverpool most likely to be top of the chasing pack, 3rd-6th could be in just about any order at the moment.
Probably need 10 games in before the reality of the season will set in for those 4 teams?
