Disappointed to read that. I was hoping DW would get emptied first.
I don't really understand it with Perez. Wenger didn't rate him, and apparently neither does Emery..so there has to be something in that. Unless the player was adamant that he wanted first team football and wanted to leave. aeropilot said:

Corect me if I'm wrong but I think we have the oldest squad in the league. As you say, hopefully it's an offload to allow some younger players a chance. I think we'll see a lot of that over the next couple of seasons.
I don't think we have any choice iand also you have to question how some of the younger players have been managed over the last 5 years. We've paid £25mil for a keeper this summer....Fabianksi or Scezzer both could have been starting the season between the sticks for us instead of at West Ham and Juve. You'd also assume that our new Super Scout Sven will have cast his expert eye over the youth players and said what he thinks of them i.e. who really deserves a chance.
We looked like a bunch of individuals who had been asked to play a system which was entirely alien to them today, City looked like a team. I have a feeling we have a whole lot more pain before this starts to get any better and we have Chelsea away next weekend.
I’m not sure I agree with how we started today either, but then again I’m not privy to how fit everyone is, Ramsey was obviously way off full fitness, I would have started with Lichtsteiner and Elneny or Torreira alongside Xhaka purely for the effort levels. Ainsley MN was clearly left out to dry by us playing narrow and he didn’t have enough defensive experience to deal with it. The four players up front were all woeful today, not sure what to make of that, we only looked a bit better when Lacazette came on. The only players to come out of today with their head high we’re Guendouzi, Cech and Lichtsteiner, Mustafi and Socratis isnt going to work, either of them beside Holding, maybe, but together, I don’t think so.

I wasn't so upset at what I saw yesterday. We capitulated twice when playing City last year, that at least didn't happen this time. We were always going to lose, they're way way too good for us at the moment.
I'm still not sure what Xhaka's role really is. I would like to see Guendouzi play alongside Torreira, Ozil in front of them in a central position, and then Auba, Laca and Mhki in front of Ozil.
I think Cech did okay, He was never going to manage to get a hand to the second and Sterling really belted the first in. Tough to save a strike like that when you're unsighted. He did a good job with Agureo's effort, although that was a really poor strike from him. Lets just ignore the near own goal, everyone makes mistakes.
Lichtsteiner was immense I thought. He didn't look his age at all.
I fully expect an improvement for the Chelsea game, but maybe not a win. I don't think we'll finish inside the top four, but if we are looking like a solid team by the end of the season I'd take that. It'll be interesting to see how long it takes Emery to really get the players playing how he wants them to.
Oh, and if Ramsey hasn't signed da ting, we should have got rid of him. I thought this kind of contract fkery was over. Old habits die hard at Arsenal, clearly.
