I hope so. I dont think he is worth parity with the clubs big earners and also that better guidance is needed on the wage structure.
From Ramsey’s pov if someone like Ozil is on £350k/week then Ramsey’s demands of £200-250k/week (if the press reports are correct) isn’t all that unreasonable. I mean over the last few seasons has Ozil really been significantly more productive than Ramsey has?BlackLabel said:

It probably is, but that's an issue about Ozil's contract. I've never liked the idea of one player earning truckloads more than anyone else in the team. Make it performance related by all means. This is football, and players' heads get turned by richer clubs.

On a footballing front I really like Ramsey, there was that season when he was Arenal’s leading tackler and goal scorer at one stage IIRC....when he was playing alongisde Arteta. From reading more on tactics...a lot of what Ramsey achieves on the pitch is achieved by him being given a free role much as Ozil does. There’s not room for two of them in the side. He “bombs forward” a lot but in these days of pressing he leave s big spaces behind him which in the way teams now play is moe dangerous than ever.
Certainly seems like he’s off....be interesting to see where he goes. I also think he’s a bit of a victim of what suddenly looks like an area of the team where we have young players pushing for game time. Guendouzi, Maitland Nile’s and Smith Rowe all look the real deal. That money that would be tied up in Ramsey could be spent on a new Left Back, Wide Attceking player or CB.

You guys definitely picking up the results and flying a little under the radar at the moment.
Other than the results are there definite improvements from under Wenger?
Personally I think the players are reacting very well to a change of regime. They say he's a disciplinarian, and a real stickler, but the team spirit seems as good as it's been for years, which is a big part of the battle. The players seem to be enjoying their work.Other than the results are there definite improvements from under Wenger?
I do think when we next come up against a really good team, our weaknesses will be exposed, but that's ok...it's still a work in progress.
We've definitely won games this season that last season we'd have lost, and we seem to be able to win ugly.
The most impressive thing about Emery is his willingness to hook players not performing, and bench some of the players that Wenger would always show unwavering belief in. I think this is healthy, it makes players want to perform, rather than go through the motions knowing they're always on the team sheet. We have some strength in depth in a lot of the positions, which offers a 'Plan B' for the first time in years.
Our predictable 70 minute substitutions have stopped, and he'll switch things around at half time if he doesn't feel it's working. Wenger would always throw fresh legs on at 70 minutes, but it never seemed to be a tactical thing, just a fresh pair of legs.

Finally that bit of grit and steel we've always needed? Or maybe we're getting caught in to many positions where we have to resort to fouling? Who knows. Arsenal are the 'dirtiest' in the league in terms of number of fouls committed.

Interesting soundbite from Cech recently was that under Wenger "playing the Arsenal way was more important than winning".....
