Another win ground out, not pretty but it who cares? We'll need a lot more against Palace though.

Welbz got an excellent goal, I was so afraid he was going to fluff his lines when it got through to him.

Yep, dire game to watch but an away wins an away win in Europe. Solid display other than a few stupid defensive moments in the first half.

May have been different if Welbecks header was allowed (I didn't see no foul), but then again may have been different if the ref or assist ref sent off Sokartis (yes he grab his shirt but the player went down like he was shot).
Also their player should have been sent off for the head butt on Lichtsteiner hopefully UEFA review the incident.

I thought that too....and I think last year he would. Team performing so much better and individual confidence better as a result. Felt to me like a game we could easily have lost last year.

End of our winning run. Still very pleased with how we're getting on. We have the makings of a good team.

Mustafi is a liability, everytime he plays I expect some sort of calamity. He's just not good enough for us unfortunately.

I'm hoping Kos will be back soon, hopefully he can stay fit and steady the ship at the back a bit.

The club have [allegedly] told him he can leave in January. I'd like to think it's to make way for another incoming defender.

ETA: maybe not...

A rather ignominious end if true, he’s been the one solid defender we’ve had for a long time as a true professional. Will be a pity to see him go but at 33 and after the injury he’s had, I can’t see him just walking straight back into the team. We need to be brutal, both him and Mustafi need to go.

As for yesterday’s game we looked tired, to be honest it was the sort of game we’d have lost last year. But again we see Emery changing things immediately at half time when it’s not working, rather than Wenger style after 68 minutes and just changing players like for like. Admittedly it didn’t work yesterday but he makes changes rather than just watching it stagnate.

Yeah, Kos in his day would be the best central defender we have. If he can stay fit he'll at least provide an extra option if he doesn't go in January, a 33 year old slightly crocked slow Kos is a much preferable option to a fully fit Mustafi! Still kills me that Valencia couldn't give Mustafi away, but we swanned in and spunked 30m on him. A true Wenger purchase.

Currently our options in the heart of defence:

Mustafi, Holding, Sokratis, Mavropanos and Koscielny (I think Kolasinac can play there if needed, as can Elneny). If it gets that stretched in a game I think Lichsteiner can also slot in.

It's far from ideal but injuries haven't helped us.

Lets not forget Nacho has also done a pretty good job filling in centre back in the past and I'm pretty sure ive seen Xhaka do the same for the Swiss.

Don't think Elneny has featured in a game under Emery and i'm not aware that he is injured.

Disappointing result at the weekend but echo previous comments, that's a game we would likely have lost in previous seasons so 22 out of 24 points since losing to Chelski pretty decent. Stern test this weekend though.........

Bendtner convicted of hitting a taxi driver!

Surely not? He couldn't hit the goal from 2 yards for Arsenal.

Surprised nothing has been mentioned of the recent Ramsey developments on here. Seems he is headed out the door.

I think this is to do with the youth talent coming in behind him (Nelson, Smith-Rowe, Maitland-Niles)and the amount of money he was demanding, but I also feel he isnt being player in his best position, or being allowed to run forward as is his natural game.

He’s definitely not played well when he has come on this season, all the more surprising since he was one of the few who performed last year, don’t think he fits with what Emery wants ongoing or I’m sure they would have done whatever was necessary to get him to stay. The fact they’ve now withdrawn the contract offer says a lot.

Just don’t want to see him going somewhere else in the premiership though... happy for the lad if he gets a big club abroad as he’s been a solid player for us for a long time, despite some of the abuse he’s had I think he’s been one of our best players during the barron years.

Yes, same. I fear he has UTD written all over him however. They will buy any of our old scrap these days.

Fungus face wanted him when he was at Cardiff but he preferred us.

Hopefully he turns into another Sanchez if he goes to Man-Ure! What a great bit of business that ended up being!

Not looking forward to the Liverpool game. I reckon with their fast, direct football and our slow starts and dodgy defence, we could be down a couple quite quickly. Hope I'm wrong though!

I saw a graphic which showed Ramsey returning better stats than Ozil per games played.
