Another dire display severely lacking any creativeness whatsoever, the only positive is Emery is beginning to see who’s not up to it ( most of them) plus Sanlehi and Venka whatever his name is watching in the stands.
As soon as Ramsey came on you looked much more likely to get something out of the game.

How have Arsenal let him go ?

Let's not forget that this is Emery's first season in the PL as well as manager of the club. Many of us - me included - felt that we would have a better assessment of him (and the squad) by Christmas. We know what we've always known but with the changes he has made so far I'm feeling that it's a step in the right direction.

We can all pass judgment on who's who and what needs changing but I can't see us starting next season with a few of the current squad players. Going by recent performances there are only a dozen or so players I would want to keep. The rest can go if the club has ambition.

Seeing Venkatesham (I had to C&P his name) watching the game intently shows something; I'm hoping it's all for the good.

football history is strewn with players like Ramsey that do nothing for 4 seasons and then pop up with cameo appearances off the bench expecting a new contract.

He is an above average squad player who needs to be paid at that level and sadly his agent does not appear to see it that way. If we sign now we will regret it come summer.

He's not an average player compared to the rest of the Arsenal squad, he's one of our best players. If we're going to get rid of players get rid of the crap first.
Also it was refreshing at the same time depressing reading about the lack of money available for transfers, Wenger told us for years that he didn't need new players because the team was good enough. At least this manager tells the truth rather than Wenger bullstting.

For the wages he will be demanding (i assume it’s between £180k and 300k per week) over the expected term that Juventus would be offering - 4 years - he does not provide enough goals+assists against top opposition.

He will also require a hefty agent and signing on fee to match Juventus. I would expect that this would be what - £2m all in ?

It’s one thing to look like David Silva when playing against west ham coming off the bench but we need players who look like that when playing against Inter Milan, for 90 minutes, away in the Champions League.

Ramsey for a time was that player but he only looks that good when surrounded by better players which raise his game. This is why Juventus is a perfect move for him as Ronaldo will help him do that.

We need to move the club on from the previous set of players and sadly Ramsey is one that needs to be jettisoned unless he can be convinced that he is not as good as he and his agent think he is and accept a modest wage increase.

It's time for him to go 10 years is enough with a club.

Also Ramsey is injury prone. . Arsenal have done quite well getting rid of the crocs, Ox, Willsher, Walcott etc, let another team pay their wages whilst they sit on their arses watching he game.

  1. banter.
I have waited 11 years to get my own back on the Spurs fan who wore the Barcelona Henry shirt in the away end at the Emirates in 2007.

On that basis ordering up my new Harry Kane shirt from the Real Madrid store will be all the more sweeter. Suitably the letter ‘E’ looks like a pound sign.

all the crap about rambo is rather irritating. twirly mctwirl face. flicky mcflick face. people who have either not actually watched more than 1 arsenal game in its entirety or are just wumming, as is the case with BCM.

yes they see the 1 in 1000 flick that comes off when he scores a goal on MoD but ignore the countless losses of possessions breakdowns of moves, etc caused by his idiotic attempts, lack of input. A third of a decent season in his whole career with us post injury (was a fantastic third i'll give him that). not a loss at all, exactly the sort of player who we don't need regardless of the odd cameo the great unwashed see now and again and get it into there heads that hes some sort of anything but average player.

it will be telling how much he plays wherever he goes, but Juve is about the safest bet, little pressure in a 1 team league where the only thing that matters to them is the CL. he will be nothing more than a reserve for their CL games. annoying hes going for free, as given how much cream has been split in pants about him, he would be worth 200m you would think...

gylfi sigurddson is 50m though so we really should be getting similar, even if rambo is not quite as good as sigurdsson.

Ramsey has had an initial medical for Juve move.

If we do get a fee for him then i would expect someone comes in, even if it’s a Mbappe style loan then permanent move.

I hope he doesn't move in this window.

For better or worse, I think right now he's one of our better/only attacking midfielders, who on earth would replace him in the team? Ozil maybe, but Ozil for whatever reason either doesn't want to play or the manager doesn't want to play him.

Is there anyone we could get that would even be a like for like, let alone someone better?

hes not in the team.

whats his contribution been this season?

id happily see him go, despite us having so few centre midfielders, if it meant we can get benatia or suarez in.

this season is a write off now bar the EL even though we lost less games than spurs.

I saw it quoted somewhere that the rumour is we wanted £18m if they sign him in this Jan transfer window......?

you could speculate that the ‘no money for transfers’ was a coded message to Juventus that a deal could be done now rather than wait as we need to bring a player in. I can’t see it any other way as it weakens our hand if they think we are skint until the new money rolls over in July.

it’s a funny old game.

Oh well at least we have 4.5 seasons of Iwobi to look forwards too.

Looking forwards to the curry after Chelsea match, the match itself not so much, we need creativity in midfield as Tank and Myles (assuming Bellerin strains himself doing another st selfie/ putting in his top knot) aren't exactly going to bomb the box.

Lucazette 10 assists
Ramsay 6 assists
Iwobi/ Aub 5 assists
Bellerin/ Tank 4 assists
Ozil/Xhaka 2 Assists
Sokratis 1 Assists
(From EPL fantasy stats page)

The return (or the need for the return) of Koz seems to have a given the deja vu back for us (recall he said he was off but was crocked and used us as a convalescence home-sound familiar) now he's still rusty and age not on his side I think he will now hang on to the bitter end. We extended Monreal for a year...when he can't get in the first team, some strange st going on.

Given Kroenke history with his other club "ownership", no surprise we are just real estate to him, and like a st landlord he wants to spend nothing unless absolutely necessary (but make sure he gets his "consultancy" fees). Feels like reducing the overheads/ avoiding increased wages spend (Ramsay), expect Ozil to go in the summer if we can offload him and "give some youth" a chance which will be er interesting. Be interested to see who would want to come to us it feel like the lack of ambition hasn't changed only the manager.

Hope I'm wrong but I feel another cheap year for the season ticket renewal already...wonder if they'll try and count the £10 cup matches if we don't make any European competition...

Luckily I'm just an armchair fan but if I was a season ticket holder I think I would be en masse banging on Kroenke's door to stick his hand in his pocket or fk off, just like the scousers did some while back.

Petr Cech to retire at the end of the season, seems like the right time really. An absolute Premier League legend, who spends lots of time interacting with the fans. Hopefully he can stay on in a coaching role.

Rumours abound also that Mislintat will be off/wants out by the end of the month.

Looks like the post Wenger circus was just a little late to the party .
