Except for the fact that they're still a lot more likely to end up in the top four than we are currently, and neither of us are likely to win any trophies.

As much as I love a bit of Spurs bashing, it rings very hollow these days. Sure, they still haven't really won anything, but we don't look like winning anything major for (at least) the next few years either.
A bit of class at last .

Silver lining, at least Spurs continue to fall apart and their season is more or less over.

Indeed.
And from recent managerial comments, austerity reigns supreme on both sides of North London.

Will be interesting to see in the coming weeks, given his previous success in it, whether Emery has his primary eye on Europa League success and thus CL qualification, instead of top 4....?

We have a fairly nice run in (apart from City away & the NLD at the Lane), with 6 days rest before the 1st Bate game (away), then no match that weekend as its FA cup weekend, the Bate at home, Europa has to be the priority.

Although..

Tottenham, have still got to go to Anfield, Man City, Stamford Bridge & have an evenly matched tie with Dortmund.
Chelsea, have still got to go to City, Anfield & Old Trafford.

It will be close.. for 4th place.

edit, although if Utd win the CL, and Chelsea/Arsenal win the Europa, 4th will be irrelevant.

trophies only build up your ego.

how the f would you now poch!

dick out! dick in!

boring game, 2 average sides, we didn't deserve to lose, but didn't deserve to win. we didn't know enough urgency, but were in the ascendancy before each injury break.

But with effectively 10 men, as xhaka is pointless, and pete the plank in goal what chance do we have? hopefully that's the last we see of the 'legend' petr. the sooner he gets out of the club the better. hes been crap since day one (wasn't it west ham game he made a horrendous error in?), and been gilding his pension for the time with us. Should have made it much harder for Sanchez and then just cushioned the ball nicely for the 3rd. you can count the number of good games hes had for us on 1 hand.

Rambo good for the goal, should have buried the header, then was crap, when moves broke down with him, and anonymous for the rest, despite moron jenas creaming his pants about him all match.

Good post. I think we’d actually be better off starting off with 10 (without Xhaka),the amount of chances he gifts to the opposition. It’s like giving them a star player.
I like the way Juve questioned how much Ramsey was getting paid, says it all really.

weirdly im certain i saw a stat showing xhaka as being one of highest assist providers. i can only assume they are including the guaranteed assist he gives to the oppo each game.

if dick shows faith in him next season then im going to jump on the dick out bandwagon, despite the stty hand hes been dealt.

yes we cannot sell everyone and get rid of all, but constantly choosing down right crap as xhaka week in week out is showing wengeresque tendencies of loyalty

According to The Times, it's cost the club 17.1m in pay-offs to off load Wenger and his men.

That's one Olivier Giroud and a Chuba Akpom.

It's been quite refreshing to hear Emery being honest about the clubs transfer position and let's hope that he is right in saying that the summer situation will be different. Makes a change from the nonsense AW used to feed us.

If the rumours are to be believed then the Suarez deal looks like it is back on. Not sure what he'll be like at CB though but admittedly no worse than Mustafi.

After 60 mins the most unlikely looking 3-1 ever, incredibly didn't finish 3-1!

Awful first hour.......

It’s fairly obvious we don’t have anything remotely resembling a defence in theory or practice. It’s down to the forwards and their performance.
We’ll score more than them etc
‘Dick’ has a piece of work on his hands

Can't see that as a bonus, as that just means ruddy Liverpool now odds on to win the PL..........and to me that's on a parallel with Spurs winning it....mad

not on a parallel. never say that.

bad yes (and least preferable than any other team bar spuds), but not on par with that. not that that will ever happen. ever.
