Heads up - I believe it could be possible for Spuds to finish 4th and not qualify for the CL next season - If the Stars align,

Equally it could happen to us or whoever finishes 4th !!!

As one of my Pals just said "That would be the most Spurs finish to a season ever" biggrin
Any chance you could ask your pal how this can happen ?
Could the fourth-placed Premier League team miss out on Champions League?
Yes, but there is only one way in which this can happen.

The fourth placed Premier League team will miss out on a spot in the Champions League if English teams outside the top four win both the Champions League and Europa League.

That means if, for example, Scummy spuds were to finish fourth but Chelsea and Manchester United were to finish below them and win the Champions League and Europa League respectively, they would miss out on the top four.

I may have slightly mis quoted the link biggrin

Can't believe you gooners aren't all huddled around a TV somewhere all excited at the prospect of watching one of the world's greatest stadiums being opened. wink
Never heard 60,000 fans make so little noise.

Mind you they are watching a dull 0-0 so far smile

They could only afford Razor Ruddock.

fk me, who ate all the bagels?

For an opening 'ceremony' it was quite embarrassing.

With its 62,000 capacity, the stadium holds nearly twice as many supporters as White Hart Lane. At times, the old songs echoed around it at ear-splitting levels.

Not something I ever see written about the Emirates biggrin

Yeah, I'd imagine that walk to the Emirates is going to be somewhat deflating for you now.

Not everything is rosey it seems. I'm assuming this is because of the influx of tourists and part time fans now the capacity has increased. Inevitable really, it happened to us too when we moved to the Emirates.

I suspect it's because it'll take a few games for everything to bed in, including the fans learning to be seated during the game.

However, I don't anticipate the same issues that you had when you first moved to the Emirates.

We haven't really 'moved' like you and West Ham did we've more 'expanded' so the feel of the ground is very much old WHL from the stands but NWHL from the outside and concourses.

We've also just this morning posted a World Record operating profiting of £157m for 2017/18 so contrary to what some might think we shouldn't be so hamstrung by finances as you were.

If a few idiots standing up is all that there is to get upset about then I can live with it.

How can you expect an atmosphere to be created if everyone is sat down in the South Stand?

I don't expect them to be sat down all of the time. The sitting/standing is a kind of choreographed routine that becomes intuitive after a while. This is a new stadium and people are excited so it gets a bit out-of-sync.

Do you go to any games? There's always been a hardcore of Spurs fans that stand up for the entire game, much like any ground.

I agree. The few times I've been in the Kop no one except those in the first few rows will sit down for the entire game.

Do you? They didn't fight with each other every game either at the Old WHL or Wembley. rolleyes

It will sort itself out very quickly.

I'll take that as a no then. I'm not trying to wind you up, but your statement shows little knowledge or understanding of that stand or the crowd that stand there. I'm not a spurs fan but do have family and friends that have season tickets in that stand.

Fella, I was a Spurs season ticket holder for 26 years and a regular pay-as-you-go punter for years before and after that until I moved out of London a few years ago.

Your family and friends that have season tickets in "that stand" have been to 1 game. I've seen stands come and go at old white hart lane and reconfigurations of the shelf so its happened before.

If you think you would at all be capable of actually winding me up on this you're sadly mistaken. As I said, it will sort itself out. Only the most die-hard of gooners could think this will still be an issue in 20 games time.

Three days until the Arsenal steam-roller moves onto Everton.

The Toffees have been in decent form lately but still seem generally average to me.

0-3 to the Gunners and then let’s go give Napoli a good Thursday night slapping at home.

Back on track; we're talking about the spurts' opening ceremony. Did you enjoy it?
