Tough one. I can see no possible way we deserve to be in the CL, but without it we will probably only have a tenth the budget that we actually need to overhaul the squad.

Unless the owners have a massive change of heart and throw at least £200m at the squad, I can't see us doing any better than this for years to come no matter who the manager is.

As for this game right now, less said the better. I'm just hoping we can maybe restore some dignity after the break with a couple of goals. No way in hell are we winning it.

Is Sokratis back available after his ban for tonight? Please god he is...
He is. He might have Mistaki's shorts on.

All that progress with the clean sheets, then we do that again. Unreal.

As a Spurs boy, i cannot for the life of me why you are letting Ramsey go. He was the only one worth his pay check.
You will miss him

Easy, we've had ten (fifteen?) years of fking up contracts more and more. It's culminated in Ozil and Mhki wrecking our wage structure and players like Ramsey being allowed to run out of contract.

Even worse, we've been left with players that we most likely won't even be able to sell they're so bloody useless.

Should have been an easy (ish) run in to a CL place. Not now!

Support for the boss, I just hope he can make some changes in post season.

Tbh getting a place in the Champions League will be counter-productive as it will give Kronke ideas that the team doesn't need strengthening, the same scenario we had under Wenger when we finished fourth every year.

I am here bud. i went to see Hall and Oates last night so slow to get going today.

I need to read the sports press but you can’t concede six goals in two games and expect to win anything.

full credit to Wolves, we need to start picking apart the best players from teams like this in the transfer window.

No, we need to have a more effective scouting/recruitment system that identifies them and picks them up cheap BEFORE they sign for teams like Wolves!
Or even better make better use of our own bloody academy/youth system!

Kronke isn't going to spend big money, as he's not interested, so its up to the club to find new talent from within or scout it out when its young and cheap and then develop it.
I'm yet to be convinced the club has the system in place to do that effectively.

Arsenal have been an earlier adopter of analytics.

I'm not convinced the output of the analytics department has been as effective as it could have been.

Given Sven has already left the club........that link is rather pointless!

I was just about to bring this up. We had one of the best scouts in Europe and he left, we're fked. The 8 signings he was involved in seem like good buys, Torreira, Auba, Guendouzi and Sokratis especially.

Has Emery even got a good record with youth players?

We badly need Nelson and Smith-Rowe back too. If we manage to sell Ozil then Smith-Rowe becomes our only creative player doesn't he?

I think it rather shows that the club have acknowledged the potentially of analytics but are unwilling to adopted them as a significant part of the decision making process. The culture of the clubs needs to change but that difficult for most organisations.

Analytics aside, I think to sum it up, we're just a bit st at the moment, and nobody really knows what to do about it.
