Not the greatest game today but a win is a win and a clean sheet as well . Looking forward to pepe in the team. I noticed a couple of clever runs from him when he came on. Expected a little more from Nelson but he has bags of potential

Largely boring game but I think a lot had to do with the way the team was setup and how Newcastle setup against us. Oh, and Micky spent much of his minutes on the pitch running and chasing with no effectiveness.

Mikis performance reminded me of Verons infamous contractual-forced-appearance for Man United all those years ago. Reminded me of that middle aged bloke off the TV advert where, presented with the ball, he blasts it for miles and shouts ‘ave it’.....

They were there for the taking last year, how did that go... admittedly if the new arrivals can gel pronto, let’s not forget we have the scousers away and spuds at home next, after Burnley at the weekend. I would be eminently happy if we came away from those games with 4 points.

Yup 4 games in will have a better idea...two sides with settled squads especially Liverpool. That will be a very tough game! I don’t think we’ll really know what the potential of this team is until Xmas at the earliest. Pepe, Luiz and Ceballos alll new to the club and likely first team starters, the youth contingent of Willock, Nelson and Shaka to learn the ropes and then Holding, Bellerin and Tierney to come back from injury over the next three months. We won’t have our strongest team available for a while.....especially the full backs which as we all know are key players in the modern game

BBC said:
Ferhat Ercan, of Highgate, and Salaman Ekinci, of Tottenham, were arrested on 8 August outside the north London home of Ozil, and have since been charged with a public order offence.

The pair, both 27, are due to appear at Highbury Corner Magistrates' Court on 6 September.

Police said they were treating the public order offence and the attempted car-jacking as separate incidents.
And isn't it ironic, don't you think?

beer

I shall mostly be at Kew as booked ages ago for Mrs, so guaranteed belter of a match, open game, so 4-2 win, with us 2-1 down at half time due to VAR awarded pens for added drama.

Interesting moneyball article on BBC about how arsenal did poorly in terms of value on transfer day.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/49319480

Not sure the analytics company actually watched a game with Iwobi in it though.

reading that article the other day just highlights how moneyball is a load of bks when applied to a less statistics based unquantifiable sports such as football.

its BS.

denilson would probably have been worth 75m based on his superb passing success rate...

I’m surprised that there aren’t any conspiracy theories about the Ozil assault, making life uncomfortable for him to hasten a change of scenery?
