Your new lad enjoyed his experience at Anfield

Dani Ceballos:
I’ve never seen anything like what I saw at Anfield; I haven’t seen a team that plays better, that presses like them, the way the fans carry them along. You spend so much time defending & when you want to catch your breath & get on the ball, they've taken it again

Meh don't care, but I expect an outbreak of the "didn't zee it" hilarity to follow his appointment.

Arsenal midfielder Joe Willock has signed a new long-term contract with the Premier League club.

The England Under-21 international has been at the club since he was four.
Sensible business there I think.

2 weeks sounds a lot better than October hehe We might even see Ozil for a change, can you imagine him threading balls through for Pepe and Auba...

The first goal is the fault of Emery as far as I'm concerned.

The match against Liverpool showed how rubbish we are when we play out from the back. Why were we trying to do it again? If he keeps asking them to play like that for the next few games we'll have just as much of a st time of it.

Second... Luiz, innit. Same old same old. More penalties given away because we have no idea how to act around opposition players in the box, apparently.

It's no consolation, but it was a brilliant game for the neutral.

Less said about your defending, the better. wobble

David Luiz is a fking train wreck. Wasn't happy when he was signed. Hated him even at his best (which he is way past now).

Lack of discipline just ruins him, much like Italys Camoranesi. Another tt I hated. The list could go on, Suarez....

I manage the u11 team my son plays in.

We were 0-2 up by half time and also fked it up by not putting the game to bed. Referee in our game was the Xhaka element. We too finished 2-2 and it felt more like a loss.

Frustrating day.

I accept playing it out at the back as long as the opposition is not around the box at the time, but when Leno has booted it up the field this season the ball rarely sticks to our players. IMO the best person for that is Lacazette (who was missing like the rest of our team) so maybe the reason why we play the ball out time and time again today, not too much of a problem against Tottenham in our previous game which I thought they would be doing after our performance against Liverpool.

Today, Emery line up surprised me with both Ceballos and Ozil starting, then his substitutions for me was wrong, wrong, wrong, Ceballos off before Ozil, subbing off Guendouzi instead of Pepe, Nelson comes on instead of Chambers who could help shore up the midfield with Torreira or the defence???

Xhaka and Sokratis should be dropped for our next game which might happened against Frankfurt, I would keep Luiz as 1) he is the only fit centre half that can pass the ball out of defence the other IMO is Holding, 2) I think Emery will continue with us playing it out from the back.
One step forward, two steps back.

Gob-smacking stat from Keown in his BBC match report........nuts

BBC said:
With the Hornets managing 31 shots at goal in 90 minutes, and 23 of them coming after the break, statistically it was the worst defensive display by the Gunners since Opta's records began in 2003.

Feels like Emery is trying to get the players to play to his system rather than looking at the players and thinking “which system gets the best from this squad”. Conceded 31 shots yesterday which is quite literally a record. We just don’t have the players to be able to play out from the back....end of. Maybe with Bellerin, Tierney and Holding things will be different No idea who I’d drop out of Sokaratis and Luiz....I’d probably drop both and play Chambers and Holding!

Xhaka just doesn’t work at the base of our midfield....surely the key requirement for that position is to be mobile and to be able to tackle....it’s all well and good being able to play pin point 35 yard passes when you’re not under pressure but that’s a secondary skill. I read an article last week that said Emery didn’t want Torreira....he wanted Nzonzi....certainly feels like he doesn’t rate Torriera.

Cutting remarks from Auba “We’re literally giving goals away”.....that’s aimed at Emery. Think he’s really under pressure...we

Desperate times.

Emery after the game - "We knew that 2-0 was not enough at half-time. "

You play the bottom team and go in 2-0 up at half time, and come out with that statement afterwards?
