I suspect a return to the run of mid-table finishes seen through the 1960's will be upon us.
I remember going regular to Arsenal in the early 80s, bit boring but never gutless like they are now.
I'm afraid the old boy on 6-0-6 summed it up "avoid putting any money in Kroenke's pocket" and then he might relinquish control.
We need a new owner above everything.

Ozil creating a huge ethical dilemma. Money or call out one of the biggest human rights violations of modern times?
There’s another ethical dilemma...by posting things like that he no doubts picks up a load of social media followers which means more money on commercial deals. That said there’s been a bit in the press recently about the huge amount of money he’s been donating on a long term basis...fair play to him.Freddie is as fked off with the rest of this judging by some of his press conference comments...I do like his honesty both about his selections/decisions but also about the lack of clarity/action from the club.
From what a couple of people have said on social media who are not your classic ITK’s an announcement is imminent.

As for Ozil when will people face up to it that he's no wonder player and if he was Real Madrid wouldn't have sold him to us.
Repeat againHe's never been much good for Arsenal. How long before people face up to the truth? He's a waste of money.
I am a little broken by all of this.
I think the strategy of the club will be to sell off the golden generation of younger potential kids we have now once they have been brought to a standard.
Then sell the club to who ever is interested
(hopefully Matthew Flamini who after rescuing the world from choking on plastic, returns to spend his billions on his beloved Arsenal.....)

Not sure there's too many that anyone is interested enough in to be of any great value tbh. mylesmcd said:

More likely that Silent Stan would sell the Emirates for redevelopment before selling what was left of the club.......as that would likely net him a better return.mylesmcd said:

The American senior management trusted certain lieutenants with running the club, they failed, it does not mean (to me at least) that they want to strip mine the club for money. End of the day these are ego driven people, they want to be shaking hands with power movers at the champions league finals.I think the strategy of the club will be to sell off the golden generation of younger potential kids we have now once they have been brought to a standard.

Competing against Sheffield United for 8th is not in the script.
Sacking of Emery when Mourinho was number one target and had already gone to Spuds was a compound fracture but at least it has shown the armchair managers here and on social media how broken the squad is and no manager can save our season unless we have a busy January and buy four players who can add value.
Yeah, definitely looks like it's coming to something with Arteta - clearly more than rumours. Always liked him as a player and I think he was actually underated at arsenal. Came in at a seriously shoddy time and added real maturity and leadership.
Hopefully he will repeat the trick if he becomes manager. He is obviously very well thought of, but it's a hell of a risk. Reports seem to suggest that he isn't afraid to rub people up the wrong way and doesn't take any nonsense. No doubt they this squad needs someone who has that in them.

A player doesn't have to score lots of goals or throw themselves about in a David Batty / Carlton Palmer way to be an effective midfielder.
That doesn't mean he hasn't dropped off but 2013 - 2017 he was playing at an elite level.
