Not even half time yet, but Leeds have had 15 shots at goal, 5 on target.

Bossed.

Leeds should have had the game finished by now. They'll end up regretting missing all these chances.
Standard for us, tend to score more in the second half though.

Actually, I'm not sure they will - not this season at any rate

Shocking first half, much better second. Good to see the response...according to Nelson’s post match interview Arteta did a lot of shouting at half time! I am guessing it’s going to be a while before we see consistency. Shouldn’t be forgotten how stretched this squad is.....great that the young players are getting so much game time but any more injuries to experienced players would be a disaster.

nice to hear Arteta has a megaphone, lucky not to be 0-2 down by half time, fair play to our goalie, i heard the thus of the posts and bar quite clearly on the telly.

a win is a win, we are through.

I only made it home for the second half tonight, was a great night of football by Arsenal continuing the energy. wink

Has to be said though that on 76 minutes you have Pepe and Ozil tackling in their own defensive corner that Arteta is definitely having some major influences.

I wonder if those on here that were wanting a few of the team to fk off that is still the case? Ozil, Xhaka etc??

Even the most un initiated to football could see Xhaka as a liability tonight. Roy Keane he is not. The commentary was almost comedic. ( I thought the ref was ste though)

Best of luck to his hopefully future club.

Got the result though,

Ozil - Jury still out for me. Again showed glimpses but still needs to do more. He's moving in the right direction thankfully.

I'm really looking forward to the rest of the season now. We won't make top four or anywhere near, however Arteta can hopefully get a decent chance to spend the remaining season building and planning for the next.

Edit : Must say, fair play to Leeds. Should see them back in the big time next season. About time....

Well I do hope Xhaka does foxtrot oscar because he's a liability and on another day he would've been sent off for the way he was carrying on last night.
As for Ozil I'm pleased with the improvement and enthusiasm he's now showing but I still don't know why on £350 grand a week he didn't show this type of attitude before.

Agreed. We're not ready for Europe yet. The remaining games in the Europa might tell though.

I thought they played well but not impressed with many of the visiting fans. Yobs. Old school football factory types.

You must be joking.....or are too young to know about Leeds fans.

Having them back in the PL is a terrible prospect.

Indeed, last experience I had with Leeds fans was in Bournemouth after a bank holiday match when this happened. May have been a long time ago but sure sticks in the memory. Not too often you see the Klu Klux Klan on B’mth sea front...

Last night a mob of them walked down St. Thomas's Road past The Auld Triangle, clearly looking for trouble. Car mirrors were kicked off, street seller stalls were messed up and anyone they could make eye contact with got verbally abused. I put it down to a small number (although there were a good 40-50 of them in this pack) being aholes. But it didn't end there. The stadium presented a 60 second video after explaining why the kickoff was at 7:56 and urged all fans to take on board the message. This just kick-started a chorus of 'We Sing When We Want' and 'We're Taking the Piss' during that clip.

Walking out after the game didn't stop many of them either. It didn't matter about who was present, or where they were, chants of Wenger being a pedophile and 'Jimmy Saville fked Ian Wright' drove them on to gather into one big mob and continue with the trouble-making behaviour.

I don't mind banter and chanting between fans but this lot were yobs. Brainless idiots.

Hateful club, hateful fans, by and large. There is no place for dirty Leeds in modern football.

A win is a win, while I am upset the performance was so bad in the first half, I'm pleased that we have a manager that is not only willing to shout at them, but is also capable of saying the right things to make them listen, be ashamed and do better.

If Ozil can keep these performances up and Arteta keeps playing a similar system that allows him to do what he does, I'd like him to stay. I'd also like his wages to be reduced though.

Xhaka... I don't know. Next to Torreira, where he was for the first few months of Emery and has been for the previous couple of games, I like him. He's made some excellent forward passes, helps keep possession and in that partnership our Tiny DM looks after the harrying/tackling that Xhaka can't do.

But I don't think that's enough to keep him tbh. We need someone more versatile in the midfield in my view, someone that can do that job but also be box to box if needed.

I wasn't a fan of Arteta being manager and so far it looks like I was very wrong. Happy days, long may the improvement continue!

Xhaka when played with Torriera works, without him as we saw last night, doesn’t. As usual it’s all about getting a team with balance. There first half we looked like we had no midfield and that was why Leeds were just running through us like we didn’t exist.
