“Scheduling both Scottish League Cup semi-finals on the same day at Hampden is "idiotic", says the Scottish Police Federation's general secretary.”
Struggling to find anyone who thinks this is a good idea

Amazing how quiet it is in here when Rangers defeat two league leaders in 3 days
Lots of goals this weekend. Nice bit of excitement back.

Not long watched Sportscene.
Good result today, but Hearts' defending was comically bad. They missed their big chances too.
Celtic blew St Johnstone to bits in the first half. Should have been far more than 6-0 In the first half alone. Shocking tackle by Swanson for the red card.
Kilmarnock have been in the wrong end of some dodgy decisions so far this year. Their penalty was an absolute joke. It was the clearest dive ever and the ref bought it. I can see a ban coming.
Looks like Aberdeen and Hibs also raised their game this weekend. Some big wins.
Just a few weeks ago Hearts had the chance to move 8 points clear of Celtic. Just a few weeks later it's down to only 3 and the goal difference gap closed. Hibs are now right on their tails too. I can see the bubble bursting especially after today.
Things warmed up a bit this weekend.
You can never just give rangers some credit - why’s that? They’ve just beaten Hearts comprehensively, something that no other team has came close to doing this season. Hearts were reduced to playing like a mediocre junior side for much of the game: lump it to the big man and kick anything that moves, human or otherwise.
I’m not sure I agree that Hearts have a bubble, that’s a bit unfair. It’s been some strong early season form and I think it will continue to be effective more often than not. They have a testing run of fixtures coming up now, though, so it could look like a ‘bursting’.

Wasn't their defending comically bad? When was the last time you seen a team run away and leave half the other team in the box like that? Why get upset that I've pointed out one of the worst defensive mistakes you'll see all season and probably ever. It was laughably bad and a weird situation of everyone thinking WTF.
Hearts have been playing that style of football all season. They have been direct and aggressive.
Who was the other league leading team Rangers beat in the last few days? I'm still lost on that one, or have you mixed up Celtic's opponent from Thursday night?

Even as a Celtic fan have to say I was very happy to see Rangers beat Rapid Vienna the other night. Quite apart from the lingering bad blood between Celtic and Rapid, a large portion of my childhood was spent in Vienna where I spent manys a Saturday at Horr Stadion following Austria Wien, Rapid's great cross-city rivals. I don't know if the Rapid fans still do it, but back in the day in the old Hanappi Stadium they used to start cheering loudly on 75 minutes as they apparently came strong in the last 15 minutes. We shall see in the return leg.

My impression of the game was that Rangers totally blew away the unbeaten league leaders who had absolutely no answer to it. “Good result but...” didn’t seem fair. I’ve seen failed offside traps before.Wasn't their defending comically bad? When was the last time you seen a team run away and leave half the other team in the box like that? Rapid Vienna were top of the group before Rangers took their spot by dominating them on Thursday night.

I’ve spent a lot of time in Vienna too. One of my favourite cities. Might try and sneak over for the final group game. Tickets for Joe Public seemed only to be available on resale websites last time I checked.simoid said:

I've seen offside traps fail before, but I can't think of one as bad as that. It was a howler for the third as well. Rapid Vienna were top of the group before Rangers took their spot by dominating them on Thursday night.
I only seen the highlights, but I was surprised to see the key moments being so equal and the difference being bad mistakes and missing sitters. The stats for the game are much more equal than I expected to read. Hearts easily won the foul count though.
The leaders of a 4 team group after 1 game hardly makes them a top of the league team.
It looks as if Rapid are struggling a bit in their league. Only 3 wins from 10 games with a total of only 12 points. That's already 18 points off the pace. I can't say I watch the Austrian league to gauge how good a distant mid table club is.

Hey if they’re top of the league, they’re top of the league In all seriousness, Vienna are a more than decent team and their recent European results can attest to that. They just seem to have gone off the boil in the league and it got the manager sacked before the Gers game.I only seen the highlights, but I was surprised to see the key moments being so equal and the difference being bad mistakes and missing sitters. I couldn’t believe Hearts trying that and failing - surely if you’ve got the balls to do it you’ve actually planned it out so it’ll succeed. It was their big lump of a centre forward that wasn’t with the script and played Morelos onside. Uche reminds me a bit of John Coffey.

I don't think the tickets for the the return leg are for sale yet from what I tell on Rapid's website. They'll probably become available around month beforehand.
edit: when are whereabouts were you in Vienna?
Cheers, that’s what I’d basically worked out but my German’s not quite what it used to be. I’m not sure if the away allocation sold out or what too. Was reading a bit about their ‘Alte Garde’ and it might be daft to end up sitting with them so I’ll be doing plenty of research with local contacts...!edit: when are whereabouts were you in Vienna?
I’ve basically worked across the city and sometimes out of town too, been out about a dozen times or so in the last decade for various projects. Stayed near Josefstädterstrasse for a while and more recently Mariahilf.
