Was depressing to watch that. We got the lead and clearly thought that would be enough. It wasn't.

It's a sad day when you feel lucky to have escaped a hiding by a team as poor as Israel.

McLeish has to go. He was never the man for the job and we look worse than we ever have. The team clearly don't want to play for him.

What's the tickets sales like for Sunday? They aren't going to sell any more now.

Gazza being inducted into the hall of fame then removed, what's that about?

Shoody way to treat Scottish footballs best ever player.

I don't think he was Scottish footballs best ever player and possibly not even Rangers' greatest ever player

i cant think of any better, he was certainly the only reason many neutrals watched games in that era.

Odd thing to for the Scottish fa to do.

I don't know the ins and outs of the withdrawal of Gazza's hall of fame nomination, but off the top of my head I would argue that Graeme Souness, Jim Baxter, John Greig, (all of Rangers), Kenny Dalglish, Jimmy Johnstone, Denis Law etc. were better, and that's not even considering the foreign contingent - Brain Laudrup, Henrick Larsson, Claudio Caniggia...etc

attendance for sunday will likely be in/ around 20k, there's always enough faithful fans to pull together that. but dont think the general public will be enthralled to turn up now, seeing we just got pumped and no (alleged) rapey ronaldo making an appearance. however as per usual, myself and my ground of 8 friends will be there and cheer on as usual.

as for mcleish going, I dont think it would make much difference. I mean he picked his strongest squad (yeah you can argue over a few names) but all in all it was a decent starting team. He played a strong formation with 2 up front. This was off the back of a cracking performance against albania at home (which was an amazing feat after getting pumped by belgium on the friday before). The players were just absolutely rotten last night, I dont think guardiolla/ mourrinho/ fergie could have gotten a performance out of them last night.

If 20,000 show up to watch Portugal that'll be more than the 17,455 that went to see Albania!

With its 52,000 capacity, tight dimensions and proximity of the fans, Hampden will be buzzing hehe

Definitely a poor way to treet someone with a mental illness but he was not even close to Scotland's best ever player!

Hasn't he still got the sexual assault charges hanging over his head?

I'm sure his conviction for racism and drink driving, domestic abuse, sectarianism and his current ill health are a few of the reasons he was dropped. He shouldn't have been put up in the first place forcing this climbdown.

Given all his off field antics it would send out the wrong message honouring someone like Gazza even if he was a fine player.

Then they shouldn't have nominated him in the first place.None of the above happened in the 9 days between him being inducted and the SFA taking it away.

He is not a very well man and is exceptionally fragile something like this could have an awful effect.

I agree he shouldn't have been nominated.

Sadly our SFA is completely incompetent and keeps needing to have their errors pointed out to them. Usually they don't listen, but they have this time.

I'm sure it'll hardly effect Gazza. It's more embarrassing for the SFA.

All three fully deserve to be on it. All top class players and model professionals. Laudrup and Larsson were better players and made bigger marks on the footballing world.

Gazza seems to have gained more fame for being a troubled genius. At the same time he's managed to have some really shocking behaviour excused. He gets more leeway than anyone.

I wonder why they plucked Gazza's name from all these years later? It's 20 years since He left Scotland.

Gazza was better than them all but thats not the point, the point is inducting him then removing him 9 days later.

He wasn't as good as Larsson or Laudrup. You're kidding yourself on thinking that.

His background of serious incidents should have meant he shouldn't have been put forward. It was another bad mistake by the SFA.

It's clearly annoyed you a lot though. Why?

Gotta agree with Driver. Laudrup and Larsson were both better than Gazza.

It has. I think given his mental illness its a pretty stty thing to do and there doesn't appear to be a reason why.
