It's clearly annoyed you a lot though. Why?
It has. I think given his mental illness its a pretty stty thing to do and there doesn't appear to be a reason why. Edited by Driver101 on Friday 12th October 15:39
You're more annoyed about his mental health issues rather than common sense prevailing that you can't give a racist, wife beating, alcoholic, potential sex offender an award to make him an idol?
His behaviour at times has been deplorable, but people keep making excuses for him.
Why does he get so much support when other people get ripped to bits?
I really don't see your argument in this one. The SFA make a mess of thinking this up, but it's done now. Common sense won.

Common sense hasnt won, common sense would have been not to induct him in the first place. You're more annoyed about his mental health issues rather than common sense prevailing that you can't give a racist, wife beating, alcoholic, potential sex offender an award to make him an idol?

Im not making any excuses for him i understand the reasons for not giving him an award perfectly but thats not whats happened, giving an award to someone with a long history of mental illness then taking it away 9 days later when there's nothing thats happens in those 9 days i find pretty deplorable.

I assume that they've decided to award him on his anniversary for his footballing contributions. It's only taken some people to point out the obvious to withdraw it. It's a fk up they instigated in the first place that shouldn't have started.
Maybe they assumed that everyone had managed to overlook Gazza's record and behaviour?
It's not a big deal in my opinion. If people like yourself kick off all you are going to do is highlight Gazza's record that at lot of people have managed to excuse or forget.

Kick off?
I'd say so. You seem more concerned with simply withdrawing an award without considering Gazza's chequered past why he shouldn't be awarded.
Why does Gazza's behaviour always get excused?
Who's excusing it?

You are excusing or avoiding it. You are more upset that the offer has been withdrawn than considering why. Who's excusing it?
I'm not kicking off. I'm trying to point out the obvious and countless posts later you are still missing the point.

I haven't excused anything. You have done a spectacular Job of missing the point though and trying to have your own argument about things that haven't been said. Good work.
Yet you keep going on about his award being withdrawn and not able to understand why. Do you also protest for Jimmy Savile to be awarded for his efforts?
Who'd have guessed on a vaguely Rangers related point we'd have Driver101 boring us all to death with his common sense and moral values...

That's the criteria right there. Any objective person would say on that basis Gascoigne is more than worthy of inclusion. technodup said:
Back to the old tit for tat nonsense. At least with Gazza you can rely on factual evidence and convictions. Not rumours and unfounded allegations.
