You just *know* when a penalty is appropriate.
By "you" I mean "me".
Personally, I think if a shot on goal that is otherwise on target makes contact with the arm or hand in the box it should be a penalty regardless of intention.
I will have to review my position with regards to crosses and the likes.

However, I do have an issue with the Northern Ireland nonsense being flown e.g. "XYZ Loyal", "UVF", "UFF", "No Surrender", etc., etc.
Given the current goings on in politics, both in terms of the SNP and Brexit I'd say 'no surrender' has never been more apposite. And btw, there's quite a difference between the first and last you cite and the two inbetween. Paramilitary flags are iirc illegal, and I can't remember seeing any for a long time.
But you are the resident expert on all things Rangers and Ibrox, so I bow to your superior knowledge. I've only been going for 25 years and only worked there for 8.

Nationals, yes - of course.
Why is a Rangers fan waving Union Jacks and the Flag of Ulster at a domestic game? Why are Celtic fans waving the Irish tricolour. To be antagonistic? To promote divide?
No need.

For the avoidance of doubt: I've no issue with the Union Jack being flown.
I’m struggling to reconcile your two statements here.technodup said:

I could offer the same argument in reverse to your good self
How could you? What party or cause do I promote endlessly?I'm a 'Tory' who doesn't much like anything the Tories are doing ffs. But still the least bad option.

Let's get this straight - you've been going to Ibrox for 25 years and are unaware of loyalist supporting paraphernalia left right and centre? You said no one sings the offensive words anymore (which wasn't true). You don't see the banners, the flags, the songs, the parades on the way to Ibrox, etc. Incredible.
You're talking ste (again). I did not say 'no one' sings offensive words. I said it is reducing, by certain songs not being sung and others having words replaced. Don't misquote me, we know you're a mad Rangers hater but let's try to stick to the facts, not your clouded opinion.Feel free to find a picture of fans at Ibrox (or an away ground if it makes it easier for you) with UVF/UFF banners or flags. Because I just looked and can't find any. Here's some to get you started, let's see if you can actually substantiate your claim this time... https://www.google.es/search?rlz=1C1CHBF_en-GBGB77...
Oh and btw, 'Town X Loyal' doesn't count. You specifically said paramilitary flags were flown. Show me.

Until then, enjoy this video. Let's see if this makes you proud. Balaclavas. Offensive words. Pyrotechnics. All the usual Rangers crap. En route to a family game of football. In Scotland.

I did enjoy it, thanks. It's precisely the sort of thing I welcome because it gets right up the noses of people like you.Must gut you seeing so many police taking no action when you're sitting at your desk taking offence to everything.

As you know, my issue isn't with the Union Jack.
Why did you mention it then? Question: do you have children and if so do you think they should be brought up in a country with all this nonsense being accepted as 'just the way it is'?

It's inappropriate at a football game. There'sno need for that or the Union Jack or the Ulster flag. It's antagonistic. You knew that though. But, contrary to popular beleive, those flags are not my issue.

What nonsense? Union Jacks or paramilitary groups? You seem to be conflating the two quite regularly.Question: do you have children and if so do you think they should be brought up in a country with all this nonsense being accepted as 'just the way it is'?
I’m pro expression of patriotism, but anti terrorism. Surely that goes without saying
Looking at the table, it's amazing how quickly things can change, with the two Edinburgh clubs seemingly in retreat while the likes of Aberdeen, Killie and St. Johnstone march upwards. Could do with Celtic hitting a bad patch just to keep things tight heading into the festive period.
Best league in years.

You're pro-expression of patriotism? Are you forgetting the discussions we've had over the years in the Scottish independence thread?I’m pro expression of patriotism, but anti terrorism. Surely that goes without saying
Anyway... I'm going to stop discussing this issue with you and laughing boy because you're both too small-minded and oblivious to the world outwith G51 to have a meaningful discussion.

Couldn't agree more. It's great to see the league far more competitive than it has been for a number of years.Best league in years.
