His goal tally is good as his positional awareness. But watch him off the ball.
Do you mean that in a positive or negative sense?
Negative. He's poor off the ball. Watch him.
I do watch him and he generally seems to be available as an out-ball so I’m not sure what you’re seeing. Obviously he’s not Filippo Inzaghi just yet but he must be better than average at finding/making space off the ball if he’s generating such a noticeable number of chances...?

Only time will tell but I can see Leigh finishing his career at Easter Road.

McGinn debacle? You mean when the Celtic board tried to get him on the cheap and refused to consider Hibs asking price until after Aston Villa did? McGinn chose Aston Villa - and it was his decision - this was not a debacle and was no fault of Hibs.
I don't doubt Leigh won't end up at Easter Road, however it won't be as "soon" as you alluded too in your earlier post

Re McGinn, Celtic where quoted £4m, Aston Villa where quoted £3m, he ended up going for £2.7m
That's just not true. Celtic matched Aston Villa's bid (finally) and Hibs accepted it. Why did Celtic drag it out? McGinn chose Aston Villa mainly because he was pretty much guaranteed a start each week. And he'd probably glad he did as he's a stand-out in that team and he's on a bigger stage than the SPL, excluding European games.

Are you one of those Old Firm fans who think every other cub should jump as soon as the ugly sisters shout?

The deciding factor though was that McGinn will earn at least double the salary at Villa.

For me, his positional awareness lets him down. Partially because he's often on the deck after a tackle or whatever. His speed discguises this issue though because he can quickly get where he needs to be. But he's not a complete player yet.

Celtic could afford to match his wage (Sinclair is on £40k a week), but they would'nt pay that for a sub warmer

Initially we where quoted a higher price than Villa, then Celtic responded by winding up Hibs by saying they would sign him on a Bosman it then detoriated from there

There's also previous bad blood between Lawell and Petrie

https://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/sport/football/22...

TBH I don't think he would be any better than a useful sub or replacing a first teamer in a lesser fixture
He was worth a punt @ £1.5m + £15k a week, but not what he eventually went for, so tbh I wasn't fussed we never signed him

The Flippo Inzaghi that Sir Alex opined was "born offside"?

Morelos roams outside of the box, Inzaghi never left the box

If you could fking read you'd see that I picked it up in the barbers. I haven't bought a paper for years. I don't tend to consume any Scottish media off or online, as it's parochial grievance based bks typified by that prick Sutton and more often that prick Sturgeon.

I blame your education.
You don't consume any media, yet you swan around NP&E putting the world to rights?! Even though you're completely out of touch?!
Explains a lot really.

What are you on about? I said I don't consume any Scottish media, and by and large that's true. I don't have a telly, don't read papers and don't seek out Scottish content online, because it's ALWAYS parochial, and usually st. However I do live in Scotland, and use Scottish services so have as much of a valid opinion as anyone else.

And I don't think I ever post in NP&E other than the referendum thread. I purposely don't post in Brexit threads, racism threads or any of the other usual dreck. I await you digging something out to prove me wrong but I'm hardly putting anything to rights.

Allan Johnston parts company with Dunfermline
So they're looking like having a below average season instead the usual playoff/promotion kind of level. Never understood the fashion for chopping management when things aren't going as well as previous seasons. Not as if they'll get dragged into relegation.

Magic and Clark did brilliantly at QoS then moved to Killie doing not so well. Seems to be the way for management/coaching to leave QoS and fail for want of a better word rather than push on. They seemed to be doing solid enough and Dunfermline, no need for a panic change there imho.
Very poor footballing wise. Plan B had become non existent. The players brought in to replace some decent players at that level in the summer weren't doing it. The teams below were reacting to their poor positions and it was a case of hoping we could make enough points to avoid slipping down the league or, make a change and hopefully pick up, play some better football and maybe sneak a playoff spot.

Yes fair points. He’s not half the player of a Eboue Kouassi, is he?

silly

Yes because that’s why Tore André Flo was 20 times the player Henrik Larson was nuts

It’s just an example of the peculiar business of clubs’ transfer policies. £3m for an unknown African in Russia - nae bother; similar money for a Scotland midfielder - no thanks. Similarly Pedro brought in a few million quidsworth of Mexican instead of maybe taking a punt on some more talent who knew the league.

Hindsight eh smile

Although I agree there is a bit of snobbery when Celtic or Rangers look at SPL players, in this case Celtic matched Aston Villa’s offer of £2.7m (after being quoted an additional £1.3m initially)

In the Kouassi case he came from a rich club with 3 years left on his contract (hence the £3m fee)

in McGinns case he had 12 months left and was available on a pre contract 6 months later

How does everyone feel the transfers are working out?

I'm pleased with Hibs - Ryan Gauld and Stephane Omeonga will be great additions and Scott Allan (when he arrives) will be the icing on the cake.
